Visconti Purple

I have contacted Visconti about it and they sent an e-mail back to me today saying that they plan to launch this ink on January 2012. So, thank the Pen God, its not a LE ink and it will not be sold only with the Rembrandt FP.

That's excellent news. Where is the best online retailer for procuring Visconti ink? Alas, it's not carried at Goulet or Jet Pens.

I got mine at penboutique. I'm not affiliated.

First person that finds it in stores, please let us know where. It is lovely.

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.

Want.

Oh and how much. My collection of violets and purples is bereft and sad without it.

Anyone spot this out in the wild yet? It's January after all... :D

In an e-mail, a Visconti representative told me that the ink will be released end of February!

Thank you for the ink review, and for the news about the release of V purple. I have only seen Visconti inks at my local Paradise Pen, so I will keep an eye out for the purple's arrival there. I own Visconti blue and also a turquoise-like color - I like them both very much. This purple will be a nice addition!

Just wondering, does anybody know if the bottles are glass, or, as usual today, plastic? And the usual 40 ml? I have a few 75 ml bottles of the Visconti oldies.

Hello Mike,

Its a plastic bottle. Because the ink had no box I am not sure of the ml content exactly, but I would say its 40ml .

Thanks. Whatever type of bottle, I'm just dying to get mine.

Truly a great purple!

Yes, it's plastic and it's inserted in a second plastic container/box for stability, I guess, because it's rather prone to tipping. The bottle has an odd design that was meant to aid filling pens when the ink level gets low, but it's just too light to stand unsupported or without a steadying hand. So I guess you'd need 3 hands to fill almost any pen. If the bottle were glass, as it used to be, the sheer weight of the bottle would have stabilized it. I use Visconti Blue. Great color, irksome bottle-container set-up.

That said, I can't wait for the new purple that is similar to the BSiNAV recipe ink I'm using, but very different. It seems to have a lighter violet-purple halo effect that I see in the shading from samples.
