It's a Sailor.

Fred

No. Sailors wear white hats and thats pink so that lady is, as suggested, is probably a Queen.

Not with the montblanc star clearly visible on the cap on the table ... :)

There are also a few subtle differences in the curvature of the tines and pen shape that do not seem to be Sailor.

And I do wonder whether the yellow spot above the knuckle may be a reflection of the spotlight ... but it's quite hard to differentiate from a sticker isn't it?

My MB 146 was bought for me by my then girlfriend on our first visit to London together, and she bought it for me in Harrods, and it cost her over two weeks wages. It has been used regularly ever since, and next year will be our 30th wedding anniversary.

Well done snapping her up after that demonstration of good taste and sense.

But is it a 149, a 147, or even a 146? Anyone know HM's glove size for comparison? I expect that's covered by the Official Secrets Act.

Fred

P.S. The Royal Range Rover ran out of fuel, so she had to take the B line back to the airport.

Don't be fooled by the pink charade - maybe not a Sailor but certainly special ops...

Actually Her Britannic Majesty is quite the Sailor. Until a few years ago, she frequently sailed aboard and entertained aboard her royal yacht HMY Britannia - a yacht she and HRH Prince Philip designed, one of the largest yachts afloat, and still one of the most tasteful.

Sailor? Yes, quite. Sailor pen? No.

It is too bright to be the nib size label. I had not originally looked at the cap on the table, but found that the bright spot was a little to high to be the arm of a filling lever. I expected nothing less of her knowing exactly what to do with the pen. Replace the cap, but not screw it closed because someone else probable needed it right after her. She was careful with the pen because she knows what they are, I am sure what they cost, and that after she used it, it was very special to someone. The older she gets, the more fascinating she becomes.

FYI. For the British citizens that wish to abolish the monarchy because of cost to the country really needs to take a look at what kind of tourist revenue they bring in compared to what they cost. Much of that cost is the upkeep on properties that the government would still have to keep up without them. Or they could let Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, and etc fall in disrepair. 90% of the reason foreigners travel to Great Britain has to do with the Monarchy’s achievements of present and past. Just my 2 cents.

Who mentioned getting rid of the monarchy? They are probably on other forums, you know the sort True Crime Writers or perhaps Football Foot Soldiers etc etc Most people on here are too well read for that sort of nonsense.

It would be a great picture to license. Most of the time you need a microscope to identify the pen, and/or person is not clear. This one is great.
