Looking forward to seeing you all as well. Gosh, I'd forgotten about the pen case - thanks for reminding me!

The Boston Pen People meeting on Sunday, January 29th was extraordinary. So many people brought pens that I was not able to see them all before the meeting ended. There were pens that I had never seen before except in books or on the net. What a great experience it was not only to see what these pens really looked like but also to write with them. Many of my questions that I had searched the net and not found much information on were answered.

A really enjoyable time. Already looking forward to the next meeting.

I also had a great time and was astounded at what was brought - it was my first meeting, so I thought that must be the norm! The attendees were without exception great company. I learned several important methods to use when I get back to repairing my many vintage pens - I have several partly dis-assembled, at which point I seemed to hit a brick wall. Hopefully, I will now be able to jump over that wall. I too am looking forward to the next meeting and have started to put together a set of pens with novel filling mechanisms that I would love to discuss and, in some cases, try to get answers as to how to get into them. Til next time............

I saw somebody taking photos! Are we going to see any?

I have to get after David to send them to me or post them up.

Yes there were some really great pens there. There were 4-5 long time local pen gurus there who collectively own a vast, amazing array of pens.

Most of those same folks never hang out on the boards like FPN.

Makes you wonder how many of those folks exist around the country?

I would say Hundreds. They do get to and or exhibit at pen shows however.

It was great meeting so many new people. This was one of the best meetings in some time.

A selection of photographs has been sent to Jim Baer to post somewhere.

I agree. It was amazing to meet many of the gurus and see and try many of the pens that I've only read about. I had to leave at around 4:00, but I'll be sure to spend more time with the group next time. I had alot of fun! :) I even got to ask Jim for some advice on two pens that needed repair. I was able to give them to him right then and there to take back to his shop. Thus, I saved shipping cost and time to ship to him! :D

I'm hoping that we have a meeting before long on a date when I can hang around longer. I would like to bring my nice pens next time instead of my wonky ones.

Bumping to suggest a meeting in late March (the 25th, if a Sunday) or in April after Easter (i.e., 15, 22, or 29).

This thread seems to have stalled, and another possible event has popped up for me on the 25th March that I would love to take my grandson to, so I would revise my preference to April after Easter!
