How about 12/28, tuesday in Dartmouth at Mirasol's cafe? Would anyone be up for this?

What time did you have in mind?

If you mean Tuesday (27), that would be fine but Wednesday (28) would be too early. I have a doctor's appointment at 11:00 and doubt that I would be out early enough to make it.

I just found this string and would love to join in at the meetings when possible as I live in the general Boston area (about 40 miles out). I missed not having the Boston show this year and would love to meet with fellow enthusiasts more than once or twice a year at shows.

Glad to have you join us. Keep an eye on the "Clubs, Meetings and Events" forum for information.

We just had a meeting a few days ago so perhaps another one in late January.

Also, the Boston Pen People meet in the Boston area about four to six times a year.

Edited to add: I posted what follows after reading only the first page. Somehow I overlooked the continuation of the thread.

Sorry to be entering into this so belatedly, but I just want to indicate my interest in any future meetings. I live in Cambridge (Porter Square), but if meetings are always going to be south of Boston, then between the two locations mentioned in this thread I would prefer the Quincy Marriott, as it is within walking distance of a Red Line stop.

By the way, who are "the Boston Pen People"?

See Post #58 above . Some of them are pictured there. By the way, that meeting was held at the Quincy Marriott.

Anybody up for a meeting in the near future? I liked the Quincy Marriott location, easy to reach and easy to park, with plenty of table space and quite ambiance.

I'd love to come to another meeting, but spring semester is starting up soon, which means even less free time than usual. I'll keep watching this space to see if I can attend, but you should definitely not try to plan around me.

I know I am a newbie here and haven't met any of you yet, but I would love to meet you in the near future. I have some lock out dates when I can't meet so may have to wait til the get together after the one you are now planning - I will be gone from Thursday evening, 19th Jan til sometime Sunday 22nd. My daughter and son-in-law gave me travel to and hotel stay at the Philadelphia Pen Show for Christmas, hence the lock out dates. What a great present! I can't wait, especially as there was no Boston show last year - the only one I had been to before.

I really look forward to seeing you all, if not at this get together, then hopefully at the next.

What a great present, indeed! Hope to see you at a meeting.

I'm up for another meeting too. I had a great time last time with easterner and KP at a small local get together... I could make a drive to quincy for another meeting :)

Jon, I had a great time with you guys as well. That Thai restaurant afterwards was fabulous. I'm glad we all had a nice evening. I really enjoyed it and look forward to spending time with everyone again.

@Ray (Easterner): I'm pretty close to purchasing one of those Waterman Carene "B" nibs today, after having tried yours at the last pen get together. I really loved it. I'll have to keep you posted. And, thank you again for the Parker Penman cartridges. So generous of you!!!

yeah we were just talking about another pen meeting in Quincy. Looking at either the 22nd or the 29th? Any preferences among the thread watchers here?

Sensitive Pen Restoration doesn't cost extra.

I might (low likelihood) be able to make the 22nd with difficulty, so I would prefer the 29th.

I also had a great time with all the pen talk and the dinner afterward. Don't let Ghostplane know you are after one of the "B" nibs. Oh, never mind, a "B" is too narrow for her. She likes OBBBBBB.

Do you want me to bring it to the next meeting so you can try it again to make sure?
