Very nice work as always Goring. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much for your appreciation, hh1990!! All the texts I wrote till now were only drafts. Few days ago I made my first spencerian project for a local bookshop. It turned out nice and I want to share my joy with everyone.

Very nice work!

I will go through the whole thread a bit later when I have more time but it all looks good!

Have you tried Walnut ink? It is not expensive and works well with a pointed pen.

Beautiful writing. I am too interested in learning this style of writing. I am on some exercises already and still at first level of penmanship which needs more improvement call it Spencerian. So I have to work more and more to get into cursive first as I have never done any calligraphy before. But I can see lot of improvements in my cursive writing than my normal writing and I am very happy how every thing get into shapes.

I have already invested in Dip pen nibs ( Vintage nibs which are not very popular to some beginners I guess) and some Oblique pen holders ( from China ) I am not planning to get any oblique holders Like Yolk Pen co. or erogonomic custom made holders at the time. I believe when my hand and the brain mussels are trained then added best tools will give more advantages to my drawing of letters. :happyberet:

Over the summer I've been trying to teach myself Spencerian using the Mott Media copy books. I'm on the fifth book currently, doing a page a day of the repeated sentences with their irksome outdated topics. In addition to this I'm copying poems etc for added interest. Any formal learning is produced in the copy book or on seyes ruled paper with pencilled slopes as guidelines. It's been good fun so far, especially with shading ink sampling hand in hand with some flexing. I practice the mono line style for general handwriting improvement but use a bit of flex for more structured copying. I'm using a fountain pen at the moment but will replenish my dip nib collection at some point, so will give that a go, although I'm quite happy with what I'm doing with the fountain pen to be honest. If anyone else is using this system I'd love to see some other spencerian students at work, ploughing through the exercises as I am. All the previous posts on this thread have been very inspiring, such lovely hands!

A delicious post.

Dave, that day I was practicing while sitting in a Barnes and Noble cafe; I had a cinnamon roll and chocolate mousse, and they were quite delicious.

Some more, this time while watching some Formula 1 on YouTube:
