Thank you, Alexander for the preview answer.

Today I used a fountain pen with a Tachikawa nib atached to make some writting. I realised that using this flexible fountain pen is similar to any regular straight holder.

I noticed that I need to move a little more carefully or slower on the paper compared to the oblique penholder, but the result is pretty much the same in my opinion.

I have the pleasure to share with you the results achieved.

Hello everyone! Today I would like to share with you my first attempt in the Ornamental penmanship. I used a straight holder, a Hunt 101 nib, black fountain pen ink and red carboard. Please let me know your suggestions, opinions. Thank you.

I feal that this is the best I can do in Spencerian Script for the moment. What is your opinion? Alexander, what do you think about it? Thank you everyone.post-126255-0-91800600-1491303019_thumb.jpg

This looks really not bad at all. I like the end flourishes, and the u and n in Bune came out nicely.

If you are interested in taking this to the next level, I'd suggest that you choose one exemplar, and follow it as closely as you can, especially when working on the capitals. It is not uncommon to spend a couple of sessions on just one letter. Finally, practise mindfully.

Hope this helps.

here's a couple I did with my fountain pen trying to concentrate on letter forms and spacing

This is an impressive handwritting!! I tried to do the same thing, except I put some fancy letters. Your capital i inspired me to make it look alike.

Goring, I have been admiring your work for a little while now. What kind of ink and nib did you use for this last composition?

Dear hh1990, thank you so much for your interest about my work and for your questions, too. For this last composition I used a Brause 66 EF.

I cannot afford genuine calligraphy ink to practice and learn. That is why the ink I used it is homemade and contains ingredients available to anyone, respectively egg yolk and white wine mixed up with water-based white powder pigment used for walls.

Please find bellow another sample of my work where I used the same ink:

P.S.: Your blog looks very nice and has some pictures that interested me, especially the oblique penholder made by Masterpenman Michael Sull. Grate Job!!

Great work Goring! Terrific progress!

Oh, Alexander, thank you so much for your encouragement! I very well know there is a lot of hard work left to do for me regarding calligraphy.
