As I have several Montblancs with an overlay marked with a "S" and the white star as well as the written "Mont^Blanc" sign I answer your question with: yes, they did.

Do you think MB would let any jeweller put these two signs on one pen simultaneously?

The "S" ist not a trade mark or sign of Sarastro Industrie or Kinzinger.

I search for all pens and informations made in Pforzheim, e.g. Sarastro, Fend

OK, the "S" is not a trade mark, Dirk, but you do have to agree that the "S" stands for "made by Sarastro", don't you?

Hi Axel

no, I don't agree. In the last 20 years I was not able to find any proof for this. Some early overlays on MB pens in the 1920s are made by Lutz&Weiß, a catalogue from them shows some pens. Bossert&Erhard and Kohler&Schäfer made pens for Montblanc, probably Fend also. But there are no proofs for a connection between MB and Sarastro/Kinzinger. In the years ca. 1960-1986, Sarastro did not made any pens for MB. a former employee told me.

There are Fend pens with the sign "S".

Stefan W. also told me he don't think the pens are from Sarastro.

Best
Dirk

Well, we were talking about the 1920th and 1930th. I have no idea if Sarastro was still active after WW2.

I agree with you that Bossert&Erhard and some other companies - especially around Pforzheim - were working as suppliers for Montblanc. But the question was:

Do you think MB would let any jeweller put these two signs on one pen simultaneously?

And still the answer is yes and including the official name-sign "Mont^Blanc"

Hmm, what would be the appropriate pencil to come with 139?How about this one!

Not that it's rare but funny companion ;)

MB nr 14 pencil, one of the biggest made.

My goodness this HBR mot.red is just salivating....

Well, I believe this is a rare one, not easy to find... At least for me it is the first time I see it. It has new cork and restored by a specialist, Osman (some here know him), the best way to homage the pen (and the restorer too) is to add some images in this quite attractive thread... The nib still needs some polishing and it is not going to be long before is done... MB # 45 Meisterstück Safety

Someone said he had not heard of such a MB sub-brand? They exist and are obviously produced by Montblanc in the 1920's for the Spanish market. The Chancellor 4M - RMHR lever filler fountain pen, 13.2 cm.

Beautiful pen ! I had not seen one but I knew about it... it is a piety the cap has a missing part. A serious project to repair it...

Good luck ! and thanks for showing it...

Parcival, that red Chancellor 4M is beautiful! Congratulations.

And always a joy to see Azuniga's red 45 again, what a spectacular colour.

This thread is pure eye candy.

Thanks.

Completely agree, Parcival. I have a couple of these pens myself and have no doubt that they are MB production.

Got this recently restored by the great Francis Goosens. Montblanc Simplo Compressor #4 !

New clip from Tom Westerich, Sterling silver with green gem eyes.

Not the original nib, but a nice OM flex from a 344.

The legendary Montblanc drawing pen in original case c 1925. An outstanding example of one of the rarest and most sought-after Montblanc pens.

The drawing pen and case pen is in true excellent++++ condition – crisp imprints – minor rust to blades, black hard rubber unevenly oxidised to the most beautifull patina.
All 100% original - no issues whatsoever! Now available for sale on FPN under "classifieds".

The user in me would love to see what the artists on the board could do with that. But then I've always wondered what it would be like to write with da Vinci's quill or draw with his chalk.

I have wanted one of these since the first time I saw it... Montblanc 146 Green Striated. This one has an EF nib. Have not inked it yet, perhaps later today.
