Diamine Majestic Blue - Dries Up?

Recommended Posts

I have tried Diamine Majestic Blue in four different FP's with various nibs.

It clogged, dried out, skipped or just behaved badly in all four.

When it works it looks very nice. I'm going to try diluting it some.

In a similar vein, I have had problems with a couple of pens when using Diamine Imperial Blue which appears to cause clogging with them but works fine in all my other pens. It's my favourite ink too for its colour!

Favourite pens in my collection (in alpha order): Caran d'Ache Ecridor Chevron F and Leman Black/Silver F; Parker 51 Aerometric M and F; Parker 61 Insignia M, Parker Duofold Senior F; Platinum #3776 Century M; Sailor 1911 Black/Gold 21 Kt M; Sheaffer Crest Palladium M/F; Sheaffer Prelude Silver/Palladium Snakeskin Pattern F; Waterman Carene Deluxe Silver F

Ah good, it's not just me then.

I'm super-addicted to the sheen :yikes: :yikes: :yikes: ... but I am also kinda addicted to actually being somewhat productive and not having to shake then pen, tap it and generally try to get it working after every other word written.

I use Majestic Blue in a Sheaffer Javelin with an M stubbed nib (thank you, Art!) and haven't had any issues. It's a really wet nib, maybe that makes all the difference. I've never used MB in any other pen.

Life's too short to use crappy pens.  -carlos.q
