Smoother papers seem to show it off to best effect (imo).

The two papers I tend to use are indeed Rhodia and Clairefontaine Triomphe. I have a little "C" by Clairefontaine left too which is also a relatively smooth paper.

(Note: please use a different pen for ink reviews. "Onoto Magna / John Sorowka" makes us envious!!!!)

I do finally have a different pent to do my reviews... so you now have the choice of the Onoto Magna 261 Medium or it's joyful twin, the Onoto Magna Classic Broad Stub lovingly ground by John Sorowka!

(Is there a *gloat* emoticon?)

Good review.

Think its time I tried a few inks from Diamine. I am quite close to where it is made so I may even call in to see whats available over the counter.

The true definition of madness - Doing the same thing everyday and expecting different results......

Good review and good ink. If you are looking for something more blue, Akkerman's Diep Duinwaterblauw is an alternative but beware of residue. Btw Diamine Teal has also left some residue on one of my pens.

I have seen no evidence of any residue in my bottle of Teal bought in August 2011.

In fact none of my Diamine inks bought this year have had any residue or have left any crud on the nibs, even Pumpkin. They have all cleaned out of the pen wonderfully too. I use a rubber bulb to clean between strong colours such as Pumpkin but have not had any blockages or staining with the 14 colours I have tried.
