Is there a Private Reserve and a Noodler's ink that is close to the Diamine Majestic Blue? I find Bilberry to be too purple, and the Sargasso sea, I see swabs but think it is maybe too blue/black? Looking for a darker blue, but not purplish blue or a true/blue black, in each of these three lines. An earlier writing sample of the Majestic Blue seemed to be a good color

Nothing blue-black about Sargasso Blue. It is much more brilliant compared to Majestic Blue, which seems a tad darker, definitely more of a blue-black than Sargasso Blue. I also found Majestic Blue to be much more slow-drying than Sargasso Blue.

My search for the ideal blue continues, and Omas Blue and Sargasso Sea look like candidates, but sadly, getting either one isn't possible right now. :crybaby:

I just got Bilberry, Ancient Copper, and Denim a few days ago. I have to say, they're quite lovely. Not what I was expecting for most of them, as scans never seem to do them justice. But really quite interesting. I like the steely colour of the denim. The Ancient copper is light and fun to watch. Bilberry I haven't played too much with.

I've been using Ancient Copper the past days. I don't like orange and I'm not that interested in brown inks, but I do like this ink.

I've been trying Bilberry out all day. It's an interesting ink. In my wet writing Indian eyedropper it's very dark blue with purple highlights. I'll have to try this one in a dryer pen (which means I'll likely have to buy it!) :roflmho:

I've been using Bilberry for a couple of weeks now and I'm very pleased with it. Depending on nib width, nib flow and paper choice Bilberry has many different presentations. Shades well, too.

I'm pleased to know of the shading....Can't wait to get mine!

The wait for Sargasso Sea is becoming INTOLERABLE.

It will be worth the wait

At last, a scan that shows Bilberry to have the purple shade everybody says it has! The Denim looks like a (slightly grey?) blue-black with good shading. Is that about right?

Bilberry looks a lot like PR Tanzanite to me. (Which, IME, is more of an ultra-marine color than a classic purple with equal blue and red components.)

Thoughts anyone?

Then I'll add FP's sample chart from page one, so you know where to look on Diamine's website which groups by colors. It seems to make sense to wait for arrival of first ten sometime this winter, then second ten sometime next summer.

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.
