New Diamine Inks

They don't seem to have Sunset up on the Diamine website. Does anyone know about why that is?

I don't know, but Sunset is the only one of the five not available on Goulet, also. Maybe there are some quality issues with that color.

Yes. We had quality issues with the batch of Sunset that we received this week and are now waiting for replacements. We just can't sell anything that isn't up to our standards!

I've just received my bottles of Ancient Copper and Bilberry - and my oh my, They ARE as lovely as I hoped they would be!

It's at times like this I wish I was ambidexterous because I don't know which one to write with first they are so beautiful....

The one I'm really impressed with so far is the Soft Mint - it's like a bit like a more useable Diablo Menthe, and as far as I can see, a unique colour. Great shading as well. I think Ancient Copper is an attempt at Sailor Red Brown, and it's sort of there... - ish.

I have done swabs of Bilberry and Beau Blue but haven't filled any pens yet. I have high hopes for Beau Blue. It looks to have a China Blue quality, and perhaps a bit like the late MB Turquoise as well - pale and interesting.

Our bottles of Sunset appeared to be separating, but after discussing with Diamine, a good shake should do the trick to help the components settle back together. So now it's listed for sale! We always do our homework first, never want to release something that isn't up to par

I would like to try the new Diamine Ancient Copper, but I already have a bottle of Diamine Burnt Sienna. The few swabs I've seen online suggest these are really, really similar. Has anyone done a more thorough comparison?

I haven't ordered Ancient Copper yet, nor have I seen a detailed comparison, but based on previous posts in this thread I expect Ancient Copper will offer alot more shading.

I picked up a few more of the new Diamine ink colors yesterday at the Vanness Pen store here in Little Rock. They have all of the 8 new Diamine colors available and with their lovely discounted prices in everything they sell I could not resists to buy four bottles of ink yesterday. Will load some of these new inks in vintage pens with flexible nibs and add writing samples to this thread later this week.

By the way, I heard Vanness mentioned they have a special going on at the moment: Free shipping when someone orders multiple bottles of inks.

Does anyone on this side of the pond sell the 30ml bottles?

Nordic Pens ships them World Wide for free (in fact, his ridiculously low prices aren't much above free, too!).

Writing samples for two of the new Diamine inks with flexible vintage nibs

Diamine Wild Strawberry ... Written with a Mabie Todd Swan eyedropper pen from the 1910s and a wet noodle nib with fairly wet ink flow

Lovely red color. Not sure if this particular nib is not conducive for ink shading. Will have to determine that after using this ink with other flexible nibs.

Diamine Soft Mint ... Written with a Waterman Lady Patricia from the 1930s and a superflex nib with medium ink flow.

This is a very light ink color with huge shading capabilities. The flexible nib really brought this light green to almost a teal color.

Thanks Diamine inks for bringing these gorgeous new colors to the marketplace. Thanks to the Vanness Pen Shop as well for offering these inks at the best prices I have seen around.

Here are some writing samples of the new Diamine Ancient Copper ink using a Sheaffer Legacy II in Copper color and a Broad nib.

The Broad nib further enhances the shading capabilities of this ink. Very pleased with this ink so far. Cannot wait to try it in a flex nib.

Diamine ancient copper really jumped out of the paper, almost seems to be detached from the page, just floating slightly over it.

Fountain Pen Travel/display Case out of stock now. Found new materials. People in the wait list will be contacted, slowly. Thank you!

Writing samples of the new Diamine Sunset ink. Written with a Waterman 52 red ripple pen, fitted with a superflex XF-BB nib.

This ink has very nice color shading with flex nibs and great drying times even in those strokes that leave lots of ink on paper.

This ink color will get lots of use in my flexible nibs. I really like it

This last one was done writing fast and with no pressure applied to the nib ...
