Screw Cap Parker 45?

Can anyone help?

I bought this pen quite cheaply at an antiques fair and am quite confused!

It appears to be a Parker 45 (based on the nib) but has a screw cap, the first one I've found like this. I've seen 45s with 'body-coloured' caps but not one with a screw cap.

When I examined it, the pen appeared to be made in one piece and I could not, for the life of me, unscrew it to see what kind of filler was inside. With perseverance I saw a crack appearing when I twisted it and managed to get it open. I wondered whether it might be another pen with a 45 nib unit.

Thanks for your suggestions / answers.

There was a model very similar to the Parker 45 named "New Slimfold", produced by Parker UK. Have a look here and here.

icardoth is right, New Slimfold, 1971-1975. It should be about 1 cm shorter than the 45. Is it Made in England or Denmark?

Enjoy!

Made in England. It looks very much like this one (scroll to post #11). If only all the chalk marks could be preserved!

Thanks for your help. I'll keep this one with my growing collection of 45s. It was only yesterday, when I sorted the pens I'll be clearing out soon, that I realised quite how many "keepers" I have. It's my aim to get as many of the nib codes as possible...
