Is there a logo on top of the flat cap? I'm not too crazy about the flat-top cap design so I'll wait a few more years until they come up with something different.

Nope. It's just a smooth black surface that sometimes tricks me into trying to put the cap on backwards.

Also BTW. . . The small ink window has proven to be very adequate. It's easy to check the level any time -- although it does require a deliberate thought and motion. It's not in-your-face obvious all the time as with a TWSBI.

Tony,

+1 on the cap posting onto the blindcap design... it makes me worry too but hasn't caused a problem yet for me.

+1 on the ink window narrowness. However, I notice that if you hold the pen horizontally, you can then monitor the ink level easier than just holding it vertically. Works well enough for me :)

This pen only holds as much ink as an M200? Isn't the Corona huge? It's the size of a capped M600 uncapped according to Binder's post. Are you certain it's ink capacity is this low?

Back at the beginning of this thread I wrote about measuring the ink capacity and how it compares with other pens. I think my Lamy 2000 is also pretty close to the same. Somewhere around 1.1 or 1.2 ml seems to be very typical for piston-fillers. To me that's a healthy supply of ink that will last me a long time, with the writing I do.

If you really need more ink capacity, I'd suggest shopping for a bulb-filler. The ones I've tried hold more than 2ml, which I think is about as far as you can go without getting into eyedropper-filled pens.

Ah ok, so it's standard regardless of pen size. Could a student use this pen every day to churn out about 15-20 pages or is this pen not designed for heavy duty usage as a "work horse"?

The Corona is definitely durable and should easily crank out 20 pages. I have a 0.7mm CI nib on mine and can almost certainly get over 20 pages on a fill.

NM,

Who did you get to make the CI? can you post a writing sample?

Jon,

I purchased my Corona from Richard Binder with the nib. I've reviewed it with a writing sample here:

Corona Review

I will say that the CI nib has amazing line variation but, as one might expect, is not quite as easy to use quickly as my 0.6mm stub nib (fitted to a Pelikan M200). I could still use it as a daily pen though.

Cheers,

NM

NM,

On the M200, did you get a gold or steel nib? do you notice a difference in the two metals?

I am posting this in two places because I mean it!

This well priced pen has jumped up near the top of my 'to buy list', but I would like to say that if Bexley put a Piston Filling Americana/Doric look-a-like on the market, I would buy one in each and every colour made, even if I had to sell my left leg!!! :notworthy1: Please!!! :roflmho:

Ooooh! Me too! I'd buy at least one! I have two Americanas and I love them! Please, Howard, please!

And I am waiting (not so patiently) for my Corona is Summer Storm to get here. I was going to wait, but then got a deal that I couldn't pass up... $108 including shipping for one with a B nib. :D Yippee!
