In black version, but I've sold several years ago

This color is nothing exceptional, but the type of color like vac's Sanpei is another thing :notworthy1:

Pen type very rare however, that is not so easily even in Italy :bunny01:

So how do you write with this pen Im curious?

Bry

If I rember right you have to open it fully putting the nibs against each other, than put the cap on the side you don't use, and write with the other side.

They are quite rare pens but I don't feel they are so comfortable in writing.

The idea was interesting and the way there are made is wonderful, but if you really need to write with two different color I still think the better way is to use two different pens...

UHUH!!

What a beautiful piece! I have an article on this model ready for publication but I miss a nice picture. May I borrow yours? Do you know that the creator of this pen, Orlando Quadretti had a son who is still alive? his name is Gianni Quadretti and he remembers the whole story of the pen. Colorado pens were manufactured in a very small plant in the Bologna area ( San Giovanni in Persiceto)owned and run by Orlando Quadretti. The first Colorado was an handcrfted prototype, entirely manufactued in 1936 by Orlando Quadretti himself, nibs were not hooded, and the pen was a lever filler (Orlando's son owns the prototye). Quadretti got a patent for his pen in 1949 only,at the end of WWII. Here is the patent.

There are two of these pens listed on the site: http://www.barcelonantiques.com/ with several nice pics

Under "antique fountainpens" numbers 1552 and 1555. Called Omas Colorado.

Prices: :yikes:

I found these when looking about for Inoxcrom pens due to a recent thread elsewhere her on the forum.

Gray one is overpriced, black one is a bargain IMHO
