Federal Fountain Pen

Hi!

I'm looking for any information on a fountain pen that I have. The clip says 'FEDERAL' and in tiny letters at the top of the clip "LSA". It is cigar-shaped and lever-fill, looks very 30's to me. It is 5" capped, 4.8" uncapped and 6.5" posted. It is fairly thick (takes a 22 sac) and has a very large nib which reads "VELVETOUCH, 14 K.T., GOLD PLATED, U.S.A.".

I've done a search on this site and find mention of the company's existance, but that's it.

I've google'd "Federal Fountain Pen" and I get three links back to FPN and then several FEDERAL prisonors looking for PEN pals! I stopped googling at that point!

I quite like this pen and the fact that I've not been able to find any information on it has piqued my curiosity!

I have taken photos (but now need to charge my camera's battery before I can upload the photos to my computer). I will post photos in the next day or so.

Any information would be very much appreciated!

Thank you!

Carol

I finally got my camera working - so here are the photos of the pen in question:

If anyone knows anything about this pen or this company, I'd love to know!

Thanks!

Hello CasmiUK. I have one of those cute little orange Federals as well. I got it restored and about to ink it. Mine turned up in south central Indiana, USA.

I am not getting very far on the background search either. I saw a few leads to investigate yet.
