With all these well-known, well-heeled individuals pulling in the pens it's a wonder there's anything left for the rest of us :D

Yesterday is history.

Tomorrow is a mystery.

Today is a gift.

That's why it's called the present

Roger Moore. He frequently draws with them (Mont Blancs mostly, IIRC) and auctions off the drawings for charity.

My brain is melted today: there was a science fiction writer who came here to get a Waterman repaired, and Richard offered to help him. Can't remember who it was offhand except that he's known for writing by oil lamp.

Montblanc was Sir Winston Churchill pen of choice. Montblanc later went on to release a pen named after him.

Below is a link to the original Bruckheimer thread which links to photos of his wonderful collection.

i beg your pardon, i thought he used conway stewarts or maybe onoto.

i find it doubtful that he used a german pen during those years.

Yes, Churchill used Conway Stewart and Onoto. That's why Conway Stewart has a Churchill limited edition pen. Also see this post:

We've sold our pens to several famous or notable people over the years. I wouldn't feel comfortable revealing most of them, but one who I know wouldn't mind is Sandra Bullock. Another is Donald Trump.

A former president owns our Model 14 FP, but that was given to him as a gift, so I'm unsure if he collects.

Other names I'm certain collect pens are David Ogden Stiers (Charles Emerson Winchester III on MASH) who has appeared at the LA Pen Show in years past. A friend of mine in the business has also sold pens to Radar, can't think of his real name.

Couple other notables I can confirm are Jackie Sherrill a college football head coach, and David Stern, of NBA Commissioner fame.

I'm sure there are many many more, who have acquired pens in the public domain.

Best,

Somnath.

Greetings all,

Would Winston Churchill even count? Fountain pens were the norm when he was alive- everyone was a fountain pen collector in those days... if you happened to own more than one pen. ;) I would think the point the OP was trying to make with this thread regards current notables who collect fountain pens... now that there are so many other choices available.

All the best,

Sean :)

But don't don't don't..Don't take my coconuts...

Somewhat ironically, Platinum claims that Clinton used a Platinum President fountain pen while in office but I don't know if he collects.

Who knows which of us is correct, but...

That thread is pure speculation.

Conway Stewart are not the only company to bring out a Limited Edition pen in his honour. So did Montblanc.

Bonhams claim that he was a Montblanc user.

I had no idea that Sandra "Miss Congeniality" Bullock is a fountain pen collector. Good for her!
