I would love to have an oversized balance with either a flexible nib  or a triumph nib. Nothing mint, but just very nice to excellent condition. Anyone know where I could pick one of these up for a reasonable price (i.e., <$100).

Well, I voted my dream Sheaffer's to be a PFM demonstrator. I saw one on eBay a couple of days ago, but they are WAY out of my price range. Maybe my parents will get me one for my birthday some year...Also another dream pen is pretty much any type of Autograph. I'm looking to expand my collection, so a Military Clip or Tuckaway Autograph would be great for me to get!

Sheaffer all the way!

Either an ebonized Balance OS with little or no ambering to the pearl chips or a user-grade PFM that doesn't cost a fortune.

Randy, that's exactly what I'm looking for, to the letter. I would, however, settle for a regular black OS Balance.

Well, in order of increasing pain (i.e., $$$, and note that though this reply is late, I read this thread before the culmination of #s 1 and 2 below),

1. Imperial Flighter (well, you know what I mean). Just bagged one (I think, it's still in the mail).

2. Imperial Sterling. Just bagged it, too. Arrived. Mint, uninked. Don't know whether to be happy or sad (due to condition, don't want to ink it, sigh).

3. PFM "Flighter". Dunno whether this really exists or not, but I suspect it does, and also suspect I will never pay up the market price for one. My 51 Flighter (brassed, dinged) was painful enough. :(

I would add a PFM Masterpiece to that list. There is at least one in existence...and woe betide my bank manager if it ever comes up for auction again.

I would second that one. I'm wondering if the talent still exists to custom make such a pen. It would only require a PFM III donor pen and a jeweler who really knew what he or she was doing. And, of course, some cash.

OI!! PETE!! HANDS OFF MY PFM MATERPIECE!!! :bunny1: :roflmho:

Actually, I've already looked into this path...and it ends up far cheaper to have bid at the original auction a few years back. B)

Now, where did I park my Tardis/De Lorean... :eureka:

Prob is the nib is quite scarce and worth >$100. But, those of us with couple lying around probably could fit 'em to a nice beater OS shell ;)

I would like either a Red Loaner pen or a Targa Lacque in purple... as far as I know they never made one but shouldn't a man's reach exceed his grasp or what's a Targa for?

Balance or flat-top?
