I'm glad you chose to showcase a black and white of this photo. The B&W, to me, displays "mood" and I like that aspect of B&W. I've converted a couple of mine and also prefer the B&W version. Here's one I found:

For some reason, I'm having a devil of a time sizing photos for this forum. Although the "Actual size" on my monitor is fine, they're showing up here proportionally larger so I've had to experiment uploading.

Anyway, I strongly prefer the B&W version of this digital shot.

Just an iphone snap - no filters! It's amazing what 'phones can do these days, but it was an unusually beautiful day!

I like your dog on the far right side. Adds perspective to a beautiful shot.

Yes, that's Ethel. She's a rescue from Romania. Lived on the streets for two years. Very timid, but adapting gradually.

Many thanks for your kind words.

Runic silver ring I have had made early this year. Just to bring luck. Not that I believe in such things. Writing is in Elder Furthark and ancient Germanic. Had to do some research for how our ancestors did those things. And the language, of course.

Good photo CS388! :) Without a dog, this would be an ordinary photo. But with a dog it becomes much more interesting :)

Thanks, Gobane. Very kind.

This is my new avatar [for the time being at least].

I took this with a Wista 45DX, on [probably] Agfapan 100, in Sheefrey Forest, County Mayo, Ireland, in late August/early September, 1985.

OOPS! Really haven't had any practice doing this, and I couldn't tell that the incomplete post already had the picture attached.

Also, I am just now experimenting with a new scanner (Epson V850), and I'm still trying to learn how to get the best digital file from a negative.

Perhaps more to come on this thread.

Technology is not my friend.

I love the smell of fountain pen ink in the morning.

I confess to not having been around for a while. Wonderful shots have been added. I thought retirement was supposed to give me more time... A few shots from the last few months:

No spiders today, but I'm hopeful to get back to them soon, with warm weather now here. Spring got us out yesterday (retirement is wonderful) for an outing to The Old Mill in North Little Rock. It's an interesting place, constructed in the 1930's to resemble a mill, though it is not a functioning one. It is made of concrete, even the "wood" bridges. It was featured in the opening scenes of "Gone With the Wind". This time of year, the dogwood trees and azaleas are blooming and beautiful.
