Thank you penrivers, I wish you and your loved ones all the best and may all FPNerns have a great 2015!

Lovemy51, nice to see you`re still around. I still get a chuckle remembering you bashing a certain pen brand in another thread, a few years back. :-)

Happy New Year everybody!

Farmdogfan, that's a fantastic shot. What kind of camera and lens did you use? What kind of post processing did you use?

Now I need to give this a whirl. (Probably my Nikon D7000 with a 40mm)

Thank you very much.

It´s an old pic from when i still had the Canon 1d MK III (now i have the MK IV) and the lens is a canon 300 F2,8 L is usm (which i still have).

I can´t remenber what i did for processing, but the pic is taken at F2,8.

If I ever hit the lottery, I'm going to get a Canon to see what I've been missing.

I bought myself a refurbished T5i for my birthday last year and it was well worth it. I didn't have it on a trip to Patagonia and deeply regretted having a low resolution 10 yr old Digital SLR. The new one does miracles. I couldn't figure out what I wanted before I left for this trip and what a mistake. It is worth the price--but if you can't afford the new models, the T3 is absolutely excellent.

I've been a Nikon girl my entire adult life but I'd like to test drive a Canon. Or a Hasselblad!

Using Different Lenses - A Tutorial

Big zoom lenses are a great way of making your subject look closer.

And the Zoom function can help you get even closer!

But to get really close you really need to use a Macro Lens

One of my clients is a Bird Of Prey Centre where as well as all their photography I also run workshops for photographers, so I get to play with Barn Owls and all sorts of other Birds Of Prey on a very regular basis.
