We had the Zombie Shuffle last Sunday... Probably not everyone's cup of tea so I don't just show them here, but I did take a few shots that I like:

Kinkakuji or Golden Pavillion, reminds me of the Yukio Mishima's novel with the same name in short it was burned for a crazy young japanes man, cause he couldnt stand the perfection of its architecture, so this photo is of a restoration but any way it is a well balanced composition with the lake and trees.

Yes, it's a reconstruction of the original building, but it is seriously beautiful. I visited on a bright morning when the morning sun shone right onto it and the golden glow of the building was so striking that needed sunglasses. This scene made all the subsequent temple visits of the day pale...

I took a lot of shots there... This is a panorama:

Strasbourg Cathedral. The sheer size of this building never ceases to amaze me. Tower blocks are bigger, but for an impression of solid mass this knocks the socks off them. And all done by muscle.

When you're good at it, it's really miserable.

What camera and lens are you using?

Thanks! My camera is a Canon T2i, and this was taken with a 100mm f2.8 Canon lens-my Christmas present last year. I love it!

Lovely shots, Kai! The Grotto may be my favorite — it's otherworldly — but the colors in the lighthouse shot are breathtaking!

Here's my contribution for the day, some of the many that I took last month at an exhibit of Chihuly glass at the Dallas Arboretum.

Been experimenting lately on post-treatment.

1. In the manner of early photographers from over a century ago - sepia-like, very grainy.

Abandoned grain silos in the Port of Montreal. This structure has been saved from destruction, and there is a group of people who is working on plans for its restoration. It was state-of-the art technology, when it was built about a century ago, way ahead of its time. It should be a museum piece - industrial heritage.

2. There is an exhibition presently at the McCord Museum in Montreal : Sublime Cities, by Mimmo Jodice (Italian, from Naples). His style of photography - gigantic prints in square-format, minimalist views of some major cities around the world... Tokyo, Moscow, Boston, Paris, Torino, Napoli, including Montreal - inspired me for the treatment of this one.

Entrance tolocks of the Lachine Canal in the Port of Montreal.

Wow :notworthy1: :clap1:

I would turn this into a bookmark :D

And wow ! too ....

The contrast is so interesting !

How about playing with this pic abit ....

Can you edit such that everything becomes B&W , except for the Geishas?

I'd like to see how it turns out...

Great pics.

I like the scenic ones where the colours are so vibrant...

Can almost 'feel' the mood of the lighting there .....

Beautiful !

Thanks for posting ...
