I posted this in the natural world photo thread, but thought I'd share it here for those who do not follow the other thread. It was an amazing 64˚F here today. We've had Januarys in which the temperature never went above freezing, so this is unusual.

Nice picture for any time of the year, Kristi! We've had warm weather, too, but I haven't seen bees lately. Pretty flowers!

Thanks, Jon. There were lots of these flowers under the trees in the horticulture garden on campus. I'm not sure what they are, though I'd like to know. I was amazed to see the bees. Where did they come from? I guess I need to do some research and find out what bees do in the winter. Whatever it is, they obviously can wake up when conditions are right. I even saw some flies.

On the downside, there are many flowering bulbs that think this is spring. I saw budding daffodils today. They're going to be ruined when the cold gets back...assuming that we actually will have a winter.

That is beautiful! It's one of my touch-stones that I visit EVERY time when I come out there. What a time that must have been for the Pan Pacific Exhibition...

Thanks, Skip! I know what you mean about touch-stones. San Francisco is filled with them for me (probably for you as well). I would LOVE to have been at the Pan Pacific Exhibition. It's a shame this is the only structure left, but thank goodness for it!

I always do this when I visit Segovia's Roman Aqueduct, I literally touch the stone for the construction is about 1,200 yrs old.

Nice Sonia, but I think it is among 1800 or 1900 years old.

Very nice pictures, Messmer! Thanks for posting to the thread, and I will have to check out your Flickr collection, too!

I haven't done a lot lately, but I snapped a few yesterday. This one was while I was waiting for my wife to come out of a store:

Nice one, lovemy51!

Took an excursion to the little town of Romance, Arkansas. Thought it was an interesting name, especially for a cemetery:

I'd like to use that one on a valentines card, but worry that SWMBO doesn't share the same sense of humour.

Sonia, that's a GORGEOUS moonlit photo! Love it!

Also, love the view through the Rainbow Tunnel, LoveMy51!

Romance Cemetery, er, a little too close to home. (Laughing face.)

I posted the black and white one, but I've had better reviews of the color one, so I'm posting it.
