I like the pen, but I find it hard to look at the picture, makes me dizzy.

Ooh that Nettuna Barracuda looks cool, even if I am not a "red" kind of person.

Actually I like that box it sits on. Is that the standard packaging?

Thanks!

Yes that is the standard semi-transparent rubber-like box.

The Nettuno came in clear blue, toxix-waste green, semi-transparent orange-red and colorless transparent plastic.

There is a current re-issue of this pen being sold under a different name.

Cheers

I have googled and found the blue which is my favorite color.

Would you happen to know under what name it goes?

I know Aurora purchased Nettuno, but my local shop does not sport anything like it. Did not find any prices on the old Nettuno, so far...

Pilot MYU 701 and the M90 should definitely be included in the list.

Nervous? No, I'm just thinking...

It is now owned by Aurora and sold under the name: Firma S.R.l. Cube.

The yellow-green is not available anymore but the smoke-grey is new.

fountain pens will always last imo.

to me i look at a wodden pencil wehether it be centuries old or only a few days old and think "who the hell would use this". Even for drawing i personally prefer a lead holder

those crummy ball piont pens are still around no matter how crappy they are.(the stick ones)

granted fountain pens cost more initially, but in the end.. they can be just as cost efficient, so to me the economical card doesn't play.

my ign use to be da smart r**ard (oxymoron of course), but mods changed to dasmart, so don't think i'm arrogant or pompous, just more so bad luck with my own ign lols

I can't believe the amount of responses this thread has received so far. Lots of great suggestions.

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

The only real change since I started the hobby is the price, so the future may be the same pen but twice as expensive

The trend seems to be heavily biased towards stainless steel vice carbon fiber or some other exotic material as the material of choice.

However, I must agree with an earlier point that it is unlikely that pens will persist. Nonetheless, my personal addiction to fountain pens will persist.

Albeit, it is also quite possible that we will lack the energy to power whatever would replace the pen. If that is the case, such energy inefficient products as ball point pens may well be retired to some future dustbin of history. Imagine your great, great, great grandchildren collecting what your know of as cheap, disposable plastic ball point pens!

My vote goes to the Pilot Murex. Very forward looking design. Too bad it's no longer made.

The Cross Verve.

To me, the others are "working too hard" at it, that look.

The Verve looks futuristic, clean and polished.

The also had some very nice finishes for it.

Bruce in Ocala, FL-don't yet but probably will someday
