This is not an easy pen to photograph! The granite stripes around the bottom of the cap are stunning in person and the engraving on the section is ridiculously detailed. I also checked out the Mozart in rose gold -- it looks much better in person than in photos. The rose gold is a very interesting look, but can't touch the silver, in my opinion.

Wow! The white Meisterstuck is rather striking.

What are the inscriptions on the section?

How do you like the Quartz snowflake? From the photo it seems to have a luminescence.

Enjoy!

The search for the perfect blue ink is a delicious and endless quest...

Shooting white pens can be really tough, particularly a white pen that is a deep lacquer with highlights.

Yes, the quartz emblem has a bit of luminescence to it -- it seems to absorb light and glow. It's a very cool, muted effect that a camera would be hard pressed to capture.

While it did not come with a converter, a converter will fit, I am confident. I should've bought one while at the store, but it slipped my mind. In fact, there were two demonstrator cartridges loaded into it as it was taken out of the plastic for the first time. If I had another MB converter, I'd test it out. I'll report back once I purchase one.

It's weightier than the traditional Chopin/Classique/145. The metal gives it a substantial feeling without being too heavy.

Oh, please let us know if the converter works! I loved this pen and I plan to get a FP with F nib as well, but I simply hate cartridges.

Thank you, the inscriptions bring back fond memories! A pen for those who have climbed, skied, or trekked the Mont Blanc massif. :happyberet:

This is a beautiful pen, if only It was a piston filler I would head down to MB right now! I'll wait, and perhaps sometime soon...

Patience is a virtue when waiting for the right pen... although I do just always seem to miss them

Wonderful pen!

I should have bought one a few days ago in Geneva ... back in Germany it is not available yet so I'll have to wait :(

Enjoy yours

Congrats! Beautiful pictures.

I was almost tempted to pick one up myself last week (didn't to save up for the WEs I'm eyeing :))

Meghan

Does the Tribute pen have the same dimensions as the regular 145 (Chopin)?

I had the impression the pen is slightly larger/wider due to the use of the laquered metal but also did not have a direct comparison to a regular 145.

When hearing about this pen at first I was afraid that it would be too small for me but seeing it in real life it was OK for me.

Cheers

Michael

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
