Rotring Isograph, Rapidograph, And Variant?

Recommended Posts

The sale agent of my place has discontinue selling all Rotring pen series. They has become so cheap and I can't wait to buy some. I have been using a 0.35 Rapidograph since my collage time and it is an excellent ink pen for nearly all writing chances. People are always gazing when I take this pen out and ask me where did I get it.

I know the difference of re-filling in Isograph and Rapidograph. But besides that, is that any difference? And which one do you like most?

Because of the sale, I notice there is a series named "Variant". It is a black, technical pen like pen. Any comment on it? I can't find it from the Rotring's website.

They are all technical drawing pens and not fountain pens. I believe they are three different precision levels, and IIRC, variant was the top end of that series. Obviously they are all used much less now that most drawing is computerized and done with plotters and large scale printers.
