New White Meisterstuck Mont Blanc

UPDATE:

I just now received a call from the Montblanc Boutique. They just received a memo about the fountain pen, and, indeed, as was originally (and correctly) reported by the Montblanc shops in Prague, it does *not* come with a converter and will not accommodate one (per the woman I spoke with). She was very apologetic. She said that the reason given was that they were afraid the ink would stain/otherwise damage the etching of the mountains on the section when the pen was dunked to fill, and that was the *only* reason.

*sigh*

I cancelled my order. I own cartridge pens, I have nothing *against* cartridge pens, per se, but I don't want to be limited like that, or have to do the whole syringe thing. It's really pretty, but I don't want it that much...

:bonk:

2 threads both on the same topic. This pen has room for an unthreaded piston filler as post #40 shows.

Thank you so much for pointing this out - I missed it.

I went ahead and put my name back on the list. I'll take a potential converter with me when it arrives and see what I think of the fit before buying...

I was at a MB boutique this afternoon to pick up some ink bottles and the salesperson was eagerly showing me the new stocks of the White MB that has just arrived yesterday. The range is really beautiful and though the platinum on white seems to be a more appropriate combination, the rose gold option and white lacquer is equally beautiful. I think the pictures are not doing justice to the line. They really do look better in person.

Price and refill system are the 2 reasons that's holding me back. The aesthetic is flawless.

Life is like Chinatown signage, its cluttering, confusing but everything that you need is there, just have to look harder....

I think the Meissen porcelain model is different to this one.

Yes, and double the price.

I checked out the new pens and the Meissen yesterday. They are all lovely pens but the tribute ones are too small for my hand.

I want amazed at the price of the matching cufflinks though. The two fountain pens cost about £650 and £750 (Meissen about £1,500). The cufflinks were more than the matching pens with a price tag of £800.

No suprise to me. The cufflinks are limited the pens are not.

Anything that has an "number" edition on it the price is going through the roof.

It makes the older LE, WE, POA 888 seems like an bargain if you can find one with the original MSRP.

I think MB missed a trick with this pen. Most people on this forum like the 146 and 149 sized pens. I personally was really excited about this pen when it was first announced, then when I realised it was smaller than the 146 I lost all interest. I imagine a lot of others have too.

I think the cost is also quite high when you consider the other pens you could get for a similar amount.

It's a shame as I really want a white pen. Maybe one day ill get a Ghandhi.

Well as it turns out, now thats its paid for theres a chance it is fake. the seller had a couple bad reviews stating he sells fakes but 50 good reviews also. I read up on how to spot fakes and will post up pics first week in October when it arrives. Im hoping its legit but if not paypal and ebay shoulde have me covered.

That's not a great picture either. Potential buyers might think that the feed sticks out when looked at from the front.

I could take a better photograph than that.

In fact if they were prepared to send me the pen, I would take as many photos of it as they wanted for free :D
