New White Meisterstuck Mont Blanc

I have seen this white lacquer pen in the MB boutique a few days ago. I am interested in white lacquer pens( with my white iphone4) , I also have a Dupont Shaman which is a pearl white lacquer pen. I think the pen is well built as other MBs, but the quartz emblem looks grey not as bright as mother of pearl. Since I have Meissens I will hold on at the moment.

mjchuang9: How you like your ST Dupont Shaman?

I saw the MB white pen a while back, maybe about a month ago in the MB catalog. Anyways, the seller was saying that now MB will aim most of their products to appeal to women.

:bonk:

They have enough women's pens! Three diva lines plus the diva special edition, how about (talking to MB) you stop being so lazy and make some nice platinum trimmed MOP 149s!!!!

Don't take this the wrong way anybody, I don't really feel that strongly, just making a point :P

My wife saw this posting and feel in love with it immediately. Nonetheless, I really don't mind carry this around. I've been considering of getting a Classique size, and this is a unique choice indeed! Just love the white pen case.

ST Dupont Shaman is a pearl white lacquer pen with mother of peal , but without Chinese lacquer mark. It is a special pen that I appreciate and I like the Indian motif. But I prefer pure white at the moment ,white Meissen porcelain or the new white lacquer is a good choice. You will pay more on Meissen than I did now.

Yeah, i got the ST Dupont Shaman Large fountain pen in Medium nib. It is lovely. Very good weight and love the grip part. The pen looks really nice in the sun when the pearls sparkle. Besides, most of my pen are somehow related to tobacco. LoL

I love white pens and would love to own one one day. I got all excited until I read that no Le Grand or 149 size was available. Lets hope they bring out the larger pens in the near future.

If they want THIS woman to buy one, they'd better bring it out in a 149. I am so tired of dinky, itsy, bitsy, "cute" being called feminine. :gaah:

Gotta concur with Yacht, the platinum goes with the "cooler" color.

Y'all hear about a 149, let me know and it'll go on my want list in an 0BB. 'Til then, I'll leave 'em for the dainty types.

I see MB have updated their website with this pen. Along with some of the worst photoshopping I've ever seen, giving the nib a nice black shadow.

In fact it must be special - it's got its own website!

Details seem a little vague on the sizing of the pen (although it has already been established here - just weird MB felt that they didn't need to clarify).

I am surprised to see that the leather goods are being produced in limited numbers, but not the writing instruments.

I love this pen - and the leather goods they have brought out to compliment it. I agree that in this case the platinum goes better than the rose gold (and I am usually a 'gold' person). I don't see it as a woman's pen. I actually prefer a larger pen and would really like this in a 146 size.

It think it might be a mater of time before this new line is released in other models.

Do you really think so? Has this ever happened in the past - ie where a special edition line has been expanded after release?

I'm going to buy one, and then I'm going to go drag a knee and smoke some tires to make myself feel less dainty.

Too bad the Rose Gold version is not available in a 149. This pen costs as much as a WE...is this limited edition or limited production?

I saw this series yesterday in the MB boutique in Prague. The f/p is the Classique size. My big disappointment is it is cartridge only, which to me makes it a tribute to looks but not to function. It would be out of my range in any case, but when a beautiful pen basically has no mechanism and is dependent on a dinky little plastic cartridge to function, that disappoints me. It's nice to have the cartridge option but I like a pen to be intact and independently able to function with an internal filler of some kind.

Edited to add: What got me was the clerk opened the pen and it is the same size as the Classique which does take a convertor, there was plenty of room for a convertor, and yet they made it so the convertor would not fit. Why?

Oh, man, that just completely ruined this for me. I was considering putting this on my wish list (even though it's smaller than I'd like). But cartridge only? No converter?

I don't think so...

Can't you just refill the empty ink cartridges?

Can't you just refill the empty ink cartridges?

Sure you can. Then your pen requires two crutches to function instead of just one.
