Complete List of Noodler's Ink

SamCapote,

Is Prime of the Commons just a British version of Legal Lapis?

I remember reading a review which speculated on this...

-=-=-=-

EDIT:

And before I forget to ask, what did Golden Ghost look like under black light? Does anybody (who can speak freely) know?

Am I guessing correctly that it fluoresced a yellowy colour as contrasted with Blue Ghost's blueish glow?

No. Prime of the Commons looks a similar colour to Legal Lapis, but when PotC is bleached, one colour (the blue I think) washes out showing the writing has been tampered with, whereas I don't think Legal Lapis does this. PotC is described on the bottle as a "contract" ink, presumably because of this feature

"Relay"

Ah, thanks SignalboxCat.

I've had a bottle of POTC sitting in London for the better part of this year, awaiting my return to that city so I can pick it up!

I ordered it last Christmas during the mail/snow problems and didn't take into account such delays for when I was staying there - I've been really considering ordering a bottle of LL to tide me over till then, but was unsure as to whether or not they were the same ink!

Thank you for your kind suggestions; thanks also to the other members who've supplied the sources I've based this on.

I've reordered the list a bit to (I hope) simplify things.

I chose to include names of inks that had been released even very limited quantities (and would like to keep adding them) but to disregard multiple version of the same name. Eventually, I'd like to include a matrix of sizes, characterisics and availability, as well as the odd little shorthand lables on the outside of the boxes.

Thanks to all who have posted for the great work cataloging all the Noodler's inks. It may be a work in progress, but it sure makes a great resource.

Swisher Midnight Black is the new Bernanke Black, and Swisher North Sea Blue is the new Bernanke Blue. They're repackaged, says so on the bottles. :)

I look forward to receiving a bottle of each from your firm tomorrow. They are, like the proverbial check...

I've wondered how many of the 'exclusive' inks may be showing up elsewhere, under one name or another.

Does anyone know if Tahitian Pearl has a future? I'd asked at Swisher, but it hasn't been convenient for them to reply yet.

Glad to hear that, as Swisher North Sea Blue was the one Swisher Ink I never got.

JJ--Good list. That is 206. I know I have some others not on this list, but have to go through every bottle to find them. Someday.

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.

I've honestly never paid attention to Swisher's exclusive colors (especially since those don't have them anymore, or are at least clearing out what's left), but I'll talk to Nathan and see if any colors are good/popular enough to warrant rebottling as a Goulet exclusive, per his recommendation. ;)

Yes ... Goulet Pens should have an exclusive. Most definitely.

Thanks for this great list!

You might note that Missing Pen's Das Verschollene Gruen came in three variations. They were attempts to approximate the color of MB Racing Car Green. I'm not sure whether any of the three went into regular production, but Rolf Thiel would know.

So here I am, dusting off and resurrecting an old thread... I was curious about Noodler's ink series, and didn't realize there are so many of them. Well- I knew, of course, that there are many, but not THIS many. Fascinating...

<snip>
I feel like we FPN'ers need to go Noodler's-hunting, and discover some of the treasures Nathan has scattered around the world. Not to obtain the inks, just to know more details about them... The labels and colors and names and concepts and presence of them is really fascinating to me.

So true!!!!! :puddle: :puddle: :puddle:

At one point we had discussed a scouting expedition to Castle Tardiff. (I'll try and find that thread).

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Thought I’d bump this thread back to life as I was searching trying to find if some of the old Noodler’s colors had been repackaged (hint: they have been, look through this thread) and I thought it would be very helpful if someone had an interest in updating this list: the latest update being 2013!

So cool to see posts by Nathan and Rachel Goulet. It's a shame we don't see them anymore.

We may be able to create a list from the ink reviews table.

That would be cool. Be hard with some of those LE show inks, though. There's so many in recent years and not all have been reviewed.
