Schrade Tactical Pen

Yes! Thank you, I was hoping someone had some first hand experience with it on zombies. Now I just need to get a Molle compatible carrier for it!

Picked one of these up last week. Rather like it. A tad heavy, even unposted, but the nib is decent bang for the bouck and it writes well. And as somebody who's dabbled in some martial arts, well, I don't know about swords, but this pen is certainly write-ier than the kubotan.

A friend gave me one of these a few years ago and I won't lie, after reading up on it here, I went and bought a book on how to use a kubotan. I still haven't read it.

(To be clear, I have no intent of attacking people with my Schrade! But I'm a writer so I like reading about random things.)

If anyone at the DC Pen Show wants to handle one of these, I'll have one in my pocket that I'll be happy to let you borrow for a minute.

I really like this pen. It sounds gimmicky when you first hear of it, but it actually works pretty well. I'm running Noodler's Turquoise Eel in mine; the lubrication helps a bit. The Taylor Brands customer service is exceptional as well; I sent them a letter confessing that I broke my pen and they sent me a bunch of spare parts.

How did you break the Schrade? Gosh!

I wasn't happy with nib and was trying to adjust it. I got a bit carried away and ultimately my Leatherman killed it.

The Schrade Tactical Pen was the gateway pen for me into bigger, shinier and more expensive pens than I could normally get on the high street. Ironically, with those there is the risk that they may get damaged or lost. With the Schrade, the risk is just getting lost, unless I tried really hard to destroy it, but feeding it into a gas turbine intake would be fatal for the turbine.

Not a plug, but the Schrade is the one that I take to work. Any other pen gets damaged if I drop it. The Schrade just gets more of a patina of use, and every additional scratch or dent tells part of the story.
