Damn...

 

I liked the idea so much I got an IR filter, but found my Sony Alpha 300 is way too IR-filtered to be able to get a decent pen pic.

Must try with a P&S.

 

I the meantime, this is my backyard in a sunny day (VERY long exposure).

No, it's not really a demonstrator. Turns out that the pen is transparent to infrared light. (So is the ink, which is Aurora Blue.) The pictures above are infrared. This is what the pen looks like to the naked eye:

Still, it's interesting to see the inner workings of the 149 this way.
