Best Black For Addressing Envelopes?

I was wondering, which black ink would be best for addressing envelopes? I guess meaning a good permanent waterproof ink that's pretty tough. :)

Thanks :notworthy1:

Heart of Darkness by noodlers would be a good one!

Noodler's Black.

Noodler's Black.

Another vote for Bulletproof Black. Been using it for years with great satisfaction, and it's inexpensive too.

The same ink that is the response to almost every variation of, "Best Black for ______," Aurora Black.

+1 for noodler's black or heart of darkness.

Both are bulletproof. I like heart of darkness a litte better, seems to have better flow qualities and be a tad darker.

Now if only Noodler's would make a refillable dry-erase marker, I would buy a lifetime supply....

Any bulletproof ink, not necessarily black. I often use either Socrates or Galileo Manuscript Brown :D.

Which is darker, Noodler's Heart of Darkness, or Old Manhattan Black?

Thanks for all the replies so far. :)

Private Reserve Invincible Black is very very black too, by the way.

However. . . The reason why I named Noodler's Black specifically is that it resists spreading and feathering more than almost any other ink. Many envelopes are made of absorbant paper that most fountain pen inks will feather on, but Noodler's Black generally will not.

Yep, works great on cheap paper and bulletproof. Another vote for Noodler's Black

depends on the envelope.... if the ink doesn't absorb....

Noodler's Bulletproof Black or Old Manhattan Black. Both can take a rainstorm without qualm. OMB does feather a bit more, but, depending on the nib width, it shouldn't be of concern.

Wish-list: Parker 51 India Black Vacumatic. Green Parker Vacumatic Maxima. Visconti Homo Sapien. Aurora Optima and Vintage 88. Lamy 27. Sheaffer Pen For Men V. Moss-Agate Waterman Patrician, Pelikan Souverän M450. I just need to win the lottery now.

just to say something different, sailor kiwaguro.

but i use that because the noodlers black was unobtainable.

Now that I've used it for some months, i wouldn't want to go back.

but thats a different discussion.
