I don't know how many of you watch Doctor Who, but what ink do you most think is Tardis Blue? Does Nathan do requests? We could get a Noodler's Tardis Blue! Too bad TARDIS would most likely be copyrighted trademark :(

Or "The Doctor's Blue Box". Whatever he calls it, sell it at Goulet Pens and I'll buy a bottle (or two, or three) thumbup.gif.

A difficult one, I'd say - pick your Tardis! The old police box has been remade and repainted many times, and hardly twice with the same colour, from what I can see! Some of the early ones were so dark that the appearance is virtually black, and some nearly sky blue in comparison.

Sincerely, beak.

That's so funny - I was just thinking about this (just finished watching the MOST EXCELLENT second part of the season opener). I think Herbin's Eclat de Saphir is pretty close when used with a wet nib - I was writing while watching DW, and I had that thought...

Same, I was also watching and The Doctor was mentioning how the envelopes were TARDIS blue.

That's it! An ink that will vary from one shade to another and back again -- at random intervals :P

the bottle would need to contain a good deal more than appeared from the outside :roflmho:

A huge fan of the Doctor, I've been with it since the first episode in 1963 and can't shake the habit. This is a wonderful idea.

LOL, CatBookMom! I'd buy a bottle in a heartbeat!

Then again, perhaps a taboo subject amongst permanent ink manufacturers. Given a Tardis, one could beat Nathan's cheque-washing challenge by going back in time and collecting the cheque before it had been written on.

Perhaps Nathan could invent a new range to counter lasers and temporal meddling ("Ink that stands the test of Time Lords")

Ha! I was out of town and just watched the first two episodes of this season and wondered the same thing. Was actually going to start a thread but was beaten to it. Now if I only had my own TARDIS I could go back and fix that. I've got several blues, so I'm going to do a bit of research. I guess I'll use the present TARDIS color to compare. Possibly off topic, but who's your favorite Doctor? I still like Tom Baker.

Great season starter for sure. I still like Baker too, but I've really enjoyed the last 3 very much. And the stories seem to be getting much better.

When you write with Tardis Blue will it make the same sound as the Tardis?

I don't know why I didn't think of that before! TARDIS blue ink... that'd go very well with my TARDIS book. All the blue inks I have are washed-out blues, so I would definitely purchase a bottle of "Tardif's Police Box Blue", should Nathan make it! :roflmho:

You know, the first time I saw Nathan Tardif's name, I was immediately reminded of Cardiff, where they film most of the Doctor Who scenes.

The Tenth Doctor is my favourite, though the Eleventh Doctor is pretty good!

I think all agree that Noodler's would be the perfect brand to develop a Tardis color. In fact, I'm giddy just thinking about the possibility. :-)

But in the meantime, has anyone gone to an Ink swab listing like Goulets and looked to see if there is already a color similar to Tardis Blue we could use while we wait for Nathan?

Take care,

It kind of already does. Some people even complain about the bottle being too full.

Very funny! Not that I need another blue ink but I'd buy it just for the name.

Noodler's Blue and Noodler's American Eel are similarly vibrant to the Tardis, I think.
