And it confirm my thoughts (That the 149 is not a lot longer than the 146 but that the difference is mainly in the girth) and i didn't thought the difference of lenght was so short between the 142 and the 144...

I saw the Jinhao MSG series:

(l - r) 159 with beef

156 with pork

154 with chicken

152 with tofu

I didn't want to be a pig about it so I ordered the beef and chicken with wonton soup and steamed rice.

what I would like to see is a line up of:

114, 142, 144, 145, 146 (old) 146 (new), 147 and 149

that would be a complete set, wouldn't it??

Enjoy your pens

Have a nice day

Well, there is also 144 new and old as well as many different sizes of 146 and 149.

I do not have all of the variations, but this might give you an idea. Left to right: 114, 142, 144, 145, 146 (early 80's), 146 (modern), 147.

When I purchased my 147 Traveler, I was expecting it to be the same size as my newish 146. However, to my surprise, it is noticeably larger in all dimensions, a very nice substantial sized and writing pen. I do note that it was billed as a 'fine', by my knowledgeable seller, but to my eye it closer to a medium. Not complaining, just saying.

Once again I am confirmed in my belief that I do not need a 149, this is big enough. I agree with a previous poster, it would be nice to see a comparison photo of the full family of pens, maybe grouped by era.

PS- Looking at orfew's photo, maybe my 146 is a NOS pen from the '80s, not a modern one.
