No, but seriously, Suzanne, sorry to hear that a dentist, an attorney, and a biologist walked into a bar and DESTROYED YOUR PLANS FOR THE SF PEN SHOW. That is NOT funny!

Sounds like a good set-up, though.

*Sigh*

If only it could have been in a bar! Getting snockered would have helped.

Well that's rotten. I hope everything has worked out. I'd say, "Try looking at Steve's drawings until you feel better," but I don't want to make light of the situation, and now I can't help but think, there's a pun in there (light of situation, Steve Light), and I know... I'm not helping. (Sad face.)

Thanks for the link to Steve's drawings. They are indeed fabulous! En'light'ening. (that was bad) They did make me feel better.

Couldn't possibly phrase my regrets so eloquently, so I won't even try.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Oh come on!

At least Joi is still coming. (Joi? Joi? Paging Joi Edwards.)

Okay, okay... Los Angeles it is. Sheesh.

Oh, you people who are into broads, you're so amusing to the rest of us.

Anybody want to buy a kilt? It helps if you're as skinny as I, but taller.

Hey San Diego, between now and LA show, you'll have to make due with second Saturdays in Lakeside.

Rock on, Joi. That's the way to spread the pen love!

I've told ToasterPastry I was going to make one of those. Must do.

You should, Jon. ToasterPastry is hilarious! You probably already know. But, you know, in case you didn't.... Hilarious!

TBH, the only thing that has held me back is that I've heard they don't have many broads.

I WAS planning to go on Friday for two seminars, but I just checked the website and the two seminars got moved to Saturday and now there aren't any seminars offered Friday. What do you think is the best day to attend? Will it be too crowded on Saturday? This is my first pen show, so I'm feeling a little nervous...maybe the anticipation of being around so many pens is making me giddy...

Any thoughts on the best days and times to go to the SF Pen Show?

Thanks!

plc

Jon, sorry you won't make it. I'll be there on Saturday and Sunday, but have some weird time constraints.

Flying into Oakland so no ink. Will be ready to party Friday night. Get the list of places to eat and drink ready. I so need a Pen Posse!

No seminars on Friday... :-( That's the only day I can attend.

Posse on Friday. Great -- 8pm at the Bar And there's a separate topic for it! Of course! https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php?/topic/206122-sf-pen-show-pen-posse-party/page__pid__2128791&do=findComment&comment=2128791

And... Does it make sense to try to show up to the show at 11am or just "sometime around noon"? Or just "after lunch"?

I have been working my buns off so I can take Friday off to be at the Pen Show... Can't make the party Friday night - but I will be there from around 12-5 on Friday. Perhaps with the civilian....I told him what a Nakaya was and now he is threatening to come with me and hold my purse. Good thing my jeans have pockets.

Plans are in flux for the Friday night event. We will figure it out at tomorrow. Your best bet is to go to the Pen Posse table for info.

It is not looking good for me, people... I am still waking up in the night to have coughing fits... coughing fits aside, though, how I really know I'm too sick to go? When I imagine being in a huge room full of pens & pen fiends, I just want to crawl back into bed. Clearly I am not in my right mind.

I've been looking forward to my first pen show ever since it was announced & now I have to miss it because of a dumb cold?!

:gaah: :crybaby: :gaah: :crybaby: :gaah:

Have fun y'all, & blow the pens a kiss from me! Oh, make that several kisses.... ;)

FORMAL REQUEST FOR PHOTO-/VIDEOGRAPHIC DOCUMENTATION

(Well, it isn't really formal, just wondering...)

There are a number of people that I had hoped to meet in person at the show this weekend, but I can't get there. I suppose I might have looked at pens, too, but... Anyway, I have a pretty high certitude that, owing to the flamboyant nature of most of the Posse members, I imagine there will be ample photos of them, some maybe taken while holding the camera at arm's length and pointing back at them. So, those bases being covered, I'd like to ask that if anyone is there, has time to take photos, I'd love to see these two people who have been good to me this last year and I've never met. In alphabetical order, they are:

  • Pendleton Brown, of nib grinding fame
  • Teri Morris, of Peyton Street Pens

I hope all of you who DO attend have a great time!
