My FPN Ink Is Here!

When I drove up in front of the house tonight I noticed that a package was on the porch. When I opened it up I saw my bottle of FPN ink had arrived. Filled the converter in the Phileas and I do believe I really like this color of brown. I broke the converter for the pen inwhich I wanted to put this ink. So until I get a new converter for that pen I'll sick with the Phileas for now.

Lucky you! I wonder when I'll get my bottles.. I was number 17, I think. I hope I don't have a heart attack from all the excitement!

Mine arrived today, hooray! Unfortunately, I didn't have time to open it, boo! That will be for tomorrow -- later today, actually. :P

I don't remember what number I was, but my bottle arrived on 11/9/2006. Unfortunately, the pen I'm planning on using it won't be picked up until the LI Pen show....however, the ink color looks great, and the bottle label is pretty cool....now for the agony of waiting for next Friday.....

My bottles arrived yesterday. I inked pens with a fine nib and a 0.9mm cursive italic. From the fine it looks okay but not spectacular, but from the broader italic it does have some richness and shading.

It dries quickly and seems to behave well. It appears to be sensitive to the paper quality. Color, shading, and line width has varied according to what paper I used with it last night.

The italic previously had Waterman Blue-Black and the flow of the Galileo makes the line look more like it came from a broad stub. I look forward to trying it out in the next few days with narrower italics and stubs.

got mine last night but fear I was too impatient and filled a pen with red ink residue.

I shall have to put it in a Sheaffer school pen (uninked) to get a good idea of the color. The performance of the ink was flawless. I can see it might feather on very cheap papers though. It flows a lot like Diamine inks. Not overly saturated (as so many Noodler's are, IMO) but not wimpy either.

Mike,

Did your ink come UPS or by US mail? Just wondering who to watch for. I haven't got my ink yet. :(

Priority Mail. I got mine yesterday, woo hoo! (#016)

Wim did not exaggerate this ink's flow characteristics--I think this is the smoothest ink I have tried so far. My Phileas F is a little on the scratchy side (I figured out why last night, there is a definite lumpiness to the alignment of the tines, this might be my chance to experiment with baby steps in pen tweaking), but it skates along with the FPN. It's a very wet ink, I am going to try it in my just-a-bit dry Shaeffer Legacy II.

The color was rustier than I had anticipated. Going from memory, I would compare it to Havana Brown. I really like a good dark chocolate color in my browns, so I mixed it 2:1 with Noodler's Walnut. For me, this is absolutely perfect. It improves the shading as well--the mix shades from deep espresso to a slightly coppery rich brown. I'll try to scan the mix today and I'll post it here when I do get a scan.

A very very nice ink, and my thanks to FPN for getting it created!

I can't wait to see your scans! I am #38, so I have a bit of a wait before my bottle comes....anticipation....(Hmmmm...an old song with those words in it is running through my mind at the moment.)

Sometimes it comes in handy to be hyper and impatient. :D

Picked up mine today #007. It came to my Condo Building yesterday, but because of the delivery confirmation they did not leave it. I had to go pick it up this morning at the USPS.

Haven't had the time to try it yet, but LOVE the label.

Thanks for all the hard work that was involved in getting this ink made, sold and delivered.

Mine arrived today. The USPS mailing box was quite dented, and the shredded paper used for packing was something of a nuisance, but otherwise, shipping was fine.

Loaded up my Copper Esterbrook LJ and it writes quite nicely this far (had to go out to dinner with a friend of my wife's to play Roborally). I'll certainly be ordering another bottle well before this one runs low.

Thanks!

Another shipment is planned for Tuesday Morning. I'll have them packaged up and labels printed Monday. Look Monday late afternoon for shipping notices here...

I apologize, WillAdams, for the shredded paper, however they are glass bottles and packaging peanuts cost money. ;)

Good to hear the ink is arriving safely,
