The following NOS Sheaffer items are part of a consigment lot. All pens are new in the box, never inked or never dipped (except for the Prelude in Petrol shown in the picture). They were manufactured by Sheaffer USA in Fort Madison, Iowa prior to the closing of their manufacturing facility in the USA.

 

 

Pen SH01 - Sheaffer Legacy Sterling Silver 925

COMMENTS: Sheaffer Legacy in sterling silver 925. Fitted with an 18ct. inlaid nib. "925 Sterling Silver" imprint on the cap band. Measures 5 1/2" long (capped). Cartridge/converter filling mechanish. This model was inspired by the famous Sheaffer PFM model. Converter, 2 ink cartrdiges, instructions, flannel, and a red leatherette gift box included. NOS, new, never used or inked. This is a heavy pen due to the pewter barrel and cap. Very unique pen style. Cartridge converter filling mechanism. NOS Sheaffer pen trays with slots for 12 pens. Capable of holding large pens like a Pelikan M800, Parker Duofold Sr, etc. Made out of burgundy plastic with a grey and soft liner with rounded slots to nicely store fountain pens, roller balls, ball points and pencils. Sheaffer logo and white dot on tnhe front of the tray frame. Very sturdy and capable to endure a lot of use, stacking or multiple trays on top of each other, etc. The two lower pictures with pens on the trays are for display only, and those pens are not included with the trays.

Thanks for your inquiry. The nib in SH04 is identical to the nib in SH06 ... gold plated, dual tone.

Those pens came from the factory with gold trim on the pen and a gold nib. On the other hand, when they came with black trim, they had a chrome nib.

GP, hopefully the OP will respond, but I have read around here that the Sheaffer stubs are very sharp, more like a crisp italic. But I know nothing of the line widths. Just a little info...

As promised, here are additional pictures and information of the Stub nibs fitted in the Sheaffer Legacy in Sterling Silver.

 

Label on the exterior of the box. Sheaffer calls them "Stub". I would call this nib a BB Stub with line width (vertical stroke) of approximate 1.0mm

 

 

 

The looks of the nib ressemble an italic nib with edges looking sharp. However, it is an ultra smooth writer that just glides on paper, like most Sheaffer nibs

 

 

 

 

And here is a writing sample using one of those nibs. I wrote very fast in both of those writing samples. Again, an ultra smooth writer.

The ink is Waterman South Sea Blue and the paper is Rhodia Block 13 with 5x5 mm squares.
