Best Modern Pen In The World Contenders!

Hello,

out of all the modern pens, of all the manufacturers, which pens do you think could compete for the title of "best modern pen"?

Could you write a little review on why you think it is the best and perhaps show a picture of it.

Thanks,

I'm not even going to try to convince anyone that it's made of volcanic rock and bronze. Damn!

Topic seems to come up about once a week.

The best modern pen in the world today is of course, my Whale Shark Intrigue.

Why is it the best pen in the world? Because I never use anything but the very best and I am using it today. Ergo, it must be the best modern pen.

Montegrappa 1930 Extra with a fine nib. Great pen of fantastic quality, beautiful design and smooth writing performance!

Never tried the 149. Tried a 146 and didn't really care for it. Not a bad pen at all...just not for me. I vote Edison of course.

Blue & White dotted model for me, otherwise CdA Leman.

My vote goes to the Visconti Homo Sapiens. It writes wonderfully thanks to it's pd nib. It's unique body material is hygroscopic and damn near invincible, the cap locking mechanism is ingenious, and it's unique filling mechanism is simple and effective.

The best modern pens for are:

Aurora 88

Nakaya Piccolo

Sailor Realo

Pelikan 600

Stipula Vedo

Bexley Americana

Parker 100 (! I bet this isn't on many people's list)

Diplomat Excellence

Waterman Carene

Visconti Wall Street

Eclectic list, I know, but this just shows that there are some really great pens out there.

Using right now:

Jinhao 9019 "EF" nib running Birmingham Railroad Spike

Leonardo Officina Italiana Mosaico Anemone "F" nib running Diamine Autumn Oak

Pineider Tempi Moderni "EF" nib running Montblanc Racing Green

Stipula Suprema Foglio d'Oro "M" nib running Van Dieman's Royal Starfish

Does anybody consider the premier black edition to be good? Apparently, the nib goes through 40 human processes to make it.
