This pen is a Waterman Directeur Général from the 1970's. A very beautiful pen!

Mine is in stainless steel finish, and I have it down as a Concord.

I have one in black as well.

Glenn.

I believe it is one of the early models of the Le Man series, top of the line in the 70's & 80's. Not so common as the black resin flat top with streamlined clip. Congratulations, a beautiful and not so common pen. The Le Man nibs are wonderful.

Of course it is; can't even look up my own pen list properly! D'oh!! I've seen it listed as Le Man 21.

Hi

I've 3 of it and this pen is a Gentleman old style, product before the Gentleman that we all known

I've ask M. Mora from Morastylos and he explain me it

If this pen is with a Concorde like nib (I've one too), it's a Man 21

M Mora said "cet "ancien" Gentleman est sorti très peu d'années après le premier Man.

Il existait en plaqué or brossé, en acier brossé et en noir brossé."

Here are my pics

Then, from left to right :

- Waterman Strong in black resin (product after the first Man 100)

- Gentleman old style, gold plated with nib gold 18k Super 6 two-tone, Broad

- Gentleman old style, steel brush with nib gold 18k Super 6 two-tone, Fine

- Gentleman old style, black brush resin, with nib gold 18k Super 6 two-tone, Medium

- Man 21 black brush resin, with nib gold 18k Medium, like Concorde nib but bigger than Concorde nib

- Last is a Man 100

We can twist the section nib Super 6 with the Concorde like nib section to put on each Gentleman old style who change in Man 21 !!!

Dboulonnais ! :notworthy1:

Many thanks for your precise explanation, and beautiful pictures.

Now for me everything is clear.

I have two Watrmans Strong and one Waterman "acien" Gentleman.

All the pens have an amazing 18 carats solid gold Nibs - WATERMAN SUPER # 6

All great writing.

I'm not surprised, surely it Watermans

If you're not happy with you're OB nib, I can find a good home in France for it ;)

If you want trade nib, I have a B or a M.... (I have too STong too, but one is different (look at the clip, one with black lacqued band and the other none !) and other difference is the gold ring on cap, not exactly the same !

My OB nib feels very well in Poland and is not for sale.

I think that the differences in the implementation of caps, may be due to differentproduction period. Cap No. 1 is better structurally than the cap No. 2

Look at my caps. The left side is shorter than the edge of the cap.

Caps end is weak and sometimes crumble. I was leveled the end of cap. Waterman's view that reason a lot of complaints could change the design of caps. The metal edge cap is in No. 1 stronger.

On the occasion of the clip has been redesigned. Check which is more spring.

These are just my unsubstantiated speculation, but it could be.

This pen was used as part of Scaramaga's gun in the Bond film 'Man with the Golden Gun'.
