Do most people write with the cap posted or not? Are pens generally balanced or tuned with the presumption that the cap will be posted?

 

I don't post the caps; I have a moderately small hand and short fingers, and yet I find that without the cap posted, even largish pens like my Duofold Centennial and Pilot Falcon aren't too heavy. Adding the cap changes the weight a lot.

 

But there is also variation in the length of the section, and with pens which screw on, I wonder how much the threads affect a writer's hold? I recently re-inked my M400 for the first time in several years, and I do find myself noticing the threads and perhaps adjusting my grip.
