Pentel's Lancelot - Anyone Tried It?

I've been wondering if anyone around here has tried the Pentel Lancelot Fountain Pen. Pentel has maintained a small "fine writing" line up in Europe and Japan, but I've never seen one in person.

I love their Gel Rollerballs and pencils, but is their FP is worth the $70-95 I've seen it going for online?

I have not, although I've wanted to for a while now. I've tried their Excalibur FP and it's excellent. I could be wrong, but I believe it's made by Pilot/Namiki as the internals and the nib look identical to the Pilot Cavalier. Perhaps the Lancelot is made by Pilot as well?

I am always looking for new penpals! Send me a pm if you'd like to exchange correspondence. :)

To me, this looks like a Platinum Affection with the same section, a different body, same cap but with different furniture.

I do have 2 Platinum pens (PTB-5000B#10 and PGB-3000#1); both Mediums, they write like a dream.

Looking at Cult Pens description, the Lancelot takes international standard carts, so if it's a Platinum by origin, perhaps the nipple has been modified?

Just my observation...

Personally, I wouldn't pay $70 for one.
