will some of these pens be making an appearance at the Raleigh pen show?

I sure hope so! I would love to see some of Brian's work and get to try out which sizes and models that I might want in the future. :D

I admit that blue one has caught my eye...

I admit they all 3 have caught my eye - I'm struggling to decide which to buy!

It was brilliant to do a joint venture with Goulet Pens, because I didn't know about Edison Pens, but trusted Brian Goulet to present something of quality. Now I can see I should hide my wallet.

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.

Hi, my name is Jim and I'm an Edison Pen Addict. I have one custom and 2 of his regular line of pens. I am loving the new blue colour Premiere, but the Coffee one is nice too. Unfortunately, I am committed to a Turquoise Edison New Mexico Pen Collectors Club SE Pearl. The only creep I've experienced with my Edisons is the money creeping out of my pocket to feed my current addiction. YMMV, Jim

Is this the black veined turquoise acrylic Pearl that Brian has on his inventory?

I've seen on Goulet site some writing sample but can anyone show some more writing sampoles..I'm not sure between F or M nibs; also I prefer piston fill pens (Pelikan) as I cannot deal with nonsense tiny cartriges or converters..wondering how (can someone show) to convert safely this pen to dropper..

This pen would be even more attractive if it was piston filled like Pelikan

The pen can be converted to an eyedropper. I recommend a little silicone grease on the threads, just for extra insurance against leaks.

Thanks.

I have a brown with a broad nib in the mail to me as a birthday present. VERY excited! I'll report when it arrives.

Nice review. Pen kind of looks like an old Sheaffer pointy-thing. One great thing about a nice review like this, with really good pictures, is that you can decide whether you like the looks of a pen or not.

At least one of these new acquisitions is up for trade.

Brian, The nib on my new Premiere is adjusted perfectly. It's a Broad steel nib. Very smooth on Rhodia, starts right up. From what I have read, this is what I have come to expect from Edison; gorgeous pen that writes extremely, reliably well. I really love the logo on the steel nibs, very nice way to distinguish the pen as an Edison original. I have the pen inked up with Noodler's Saguaro Wine right now and it is awesome!

The engraving is perfectly subtle on the body and doesn't distract from the amazingly intricate and interesting cappuccino acrylic.

At first, I was surprised that the pen felt a little light. I had never actually held an Edison so I wasn't sure what to expect. Once inked, I found it the perfect weight - it felt balanced and comfortable in my hand. I love that. I'm wondering if this is an intentional thing or if it just happens serendipitously. Anyone else feel this way?

I prefer the pen unposted and I hold it fairly high up. The feed seems massive! Awesome!

I LOVE this pen.

This is awesome feedback, everyone, thank you! I have a couple of videos to add to the review if it helps. Here's my most recent video with the engraving on the nib and pen body:

And here's the original writing test I did on them back when I only had working prototypes (but the new nibs write exactly the same, they're just engraved now):

This seems like a good moment to remind folks that most of the Edison custom models can be made as bulb-fillers, at extra cost. I have three bulb-filling pens (two Edisons and a New Postal), and I like them a lot.

  • 1 month later...

Received my Edison Nouveau Premiere Fine point last week. It's the Cappuccino finish and is a beautiful dark coffee color with great swirls. I filled it with PR Burgundy Mist and it writes beautifully. I would love to order the cobalt version and may be able to next month. This is my first Edison and I love it.

I have the cobalt in my pocket right now. It's my only Edison with a steel nib. Both the Pearl and the Huron have gold. This one is a carry pen since it has a clip. A real pleasure to write with and a real looker. I use the converter; it's one of the few converters I have that actually works. I am thinking of turning one of the other pens into an ED filler though.
