Edison Nouveau Premiere

Just wondering; are the nibs on this model user-interchangeable with the selection of (JoWo, I think) nibs from Edison's custom series, or is it a different section?

Brian Gray was asked this on the Goulet "Write Time @ 9" of March 15. He said that the Edison Nouveau Premiere nib is interchangeable with the other Edison models except for the Mina, which uses a smaller nib.

Thanks for the review! I must admit that I initially found the design to be unattractive, but it's growing on me!

Silly question - standard international cartridges, right?

Yes, or eyedropper, which is how I roll 'round heya! I loves me some eye droppuh penz!

:roflmho:

But seriously, I turn as many of my pens into eyedroppers as possible. I hate messing with carts and converters, especially if they don't work all that great.

I have to get one of these. I live five minutes from Brian Gray's shop. That just makes it even better to find out he is local to me!

+1 to anaximander's review. I received mine recently, delayed because I splurged on a gold nib, which was not necessary, but I wanted a treat. I have to remark on how comfortable this pen is, easily the most natural-feeling pen I own. It just sort of melts into my hand, and the section is so comfortable, not slick. The nib is excellent (of course) and it's a lot of fun to see the Edison logo on it. A very successful collaboration by the Brians.

Just got mine today, with a broad nib. Essensia is right - it is very comfortable, and not slick at all. I am amazed at how light it is. This will definitely be a fun pen to use. I was thinking of Watch_art today - if converted to an eyedropper, it seems like it could hold an entire bottle of Noodler's ink. The 4.5 ounce size :ltcapd: .

I have a couple photos of the Cappuccino with fine size & gold nib that I was asking about in this nib creep thread. I don't really mind the nib creep issue, but was a curiosity more than anything--especially with that brand of ink.

Regarding the pen, it is absolutely breathtaking. The rich iridescent swirls of chocolate/brown colors give it an almost alive, 3 dimensional feature. You cannot capture it with a camera. I had not heard about Edison pens before this partnership deal with Goulet, but this reminds me of the Nakaya type of Japanese craftsmanship and attention to detail. I also got the two tone broad nib.

I wonder if Brian has an extra fine nib, as this does write wider than a Japanese Fine. I was able to use the back side of the nib to make finer lines, and the ink flow kept up great. It has a wonderful feel and balance in the hand, whether holding it posted or unposted. The large size nib is beautiful and gives great feedback on paper. I really love everything about this pen. Even the box is a distinctive faux reptile skin that speaks quality and attention to small details.

Without any questions, this pen far exceeded my expectations...and has sucked me into looking at the Edison website, searching for another pen.

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.

Also, it is a dream to flush with a bulb blower.

Hi, my name is Jim and I'm an Edison Pen Addict. I have one custom and 2 of his regular line of pens. I am loving the new blue colour Premiere, but the Coffee one is nice too. Unfortunately, I am committed to a Turquoise Edison New Mexico Pen Collectors Club SE Pearl. The only creep I've experienced with my Edisons is the money creeping out of my pocket to feed my current addiction. YMMV, Jim
