Classy Black Pens

Wow,

This thread is now five days deep now and nobody has mentioned (drum-roll...)

* The Bexely Intrepid in Black :eureka:

Although it is often seen with rhodium plated furniture, the Intrepid also comes in gold tone just for the asking. This is a large quality-built pen that oozes class without being ostentatious.

And it won't break the bank... I bought a black w/GT Intrepid with a fine SS two-tone nib from Mr. Binder at Richardspens.com for a little over $110. Highly recommended. The 18k nib version is more than twice as much - nah.

When I hear "classy black" I always imagine a Sailor 1911 with a 2-tone nib.

Really thinking about it, the Waterman Phileas and MB Noblesse Oblige (silver accents) have always struck me.

I agree with the Mont Blanc recommendations. Classic. (Although I don't actually have one. Yet. I'm waiting for mine in the mail.)

Also, I kinda like my Cross Townsend. (Though I'd look for used, and not one of their new ones.)

For me.....Vintage is the only way to go classy.....a new Rolls Royce-it's just bling.....a 1938 Rolls Royce....it exudes elegance and class.

As the character Audrey-Forbes-Hamilton might have said...her classic Rolls was Classy,Richard's new Corniche was vulgar.

I'm ashamed to see that the Parker 51 has not yet been mentioned. I lose control of my salivary glands every time I see a black 51 with a gold cap and blue diamond clip :cloud9: . Sadly, I don't own one yet :bawl: .

Wish-list: Parker 51 India Black Vacumatic. Green Parker Vacumatic Maxima. Visconti Homo Sapien. Aurora Optima and Vintage 88. Lamy 27. Sheaffer Pen For Men V. Moss-Agate Waterman Patrician, Pelikan Souverän M450. I just need to win the lottery now.

You don't have to be rich to have class.

This is a beautiful vintage Conway Stewart 388 with 14kt. gold nib. It was purchased for $20 and restored.

For class give me classic : judged over a period of time to be of the highest quality and outstanding of its kind.

I saw a black opera club at pengallery. Is that the one that broke?

An eye for insignificant details is a good sign you will do just fine in medical school...

As a sharp wit and powerful sarcasm is a sign that you already have.

Oh, yeah! You are right. I call that an ESL moment. Spanish is my first language. Ha!
