  1. 1. How many trades do you think it will take me to get to the Pelikan M1000?

Recommended Posts

Things are going well. I have a person that has agreed to trade me a black M1000 for the Conklin and Edison. I'm going to post my reviews soon for them though. After that, I might have someone local who is interested in a lateral trade to make my black M1000 into a green one :)

Fantastic!!! I'm especially glad you may have the black -> green lateral trade sorted. :D it's great to see your win-win mindset being rewarded throughout your quest. Looking forward to the upcoming reviews.

The brass band is polishing and tuning up for the fanfare...

They are going to have a while to polish and tune ... I have a feeling it may be some weeks before I cross the finish line. But, I will cross none-the-less :)

wow i didn't think it'll be this fast since as some have said you were keeping all trades within the same kind of object so variablity on perceived value is less, apparently not so, congrats hopefully you'll be very close to the green you want

FPN,

It appears as though my deal with user JLT may have fallen through. I'm not certain though. But, I am now entertaining other possible trades for my Conklin Nozac with Medium Cursive Italic Nib and Edison Beaumont with Broad Nib. Please PM me if you are interested in a trade. I feel like I am really close to my goal. :)

I just got some bad news from user JLT. He had an accident involving some pens over the past week the result of which was that the M1000 was damaged and is no longer in a condition to be traded. Therefore, my conklin and edison are officially up for trade. Anyone having anything that they would like to trade for these two pens should contact me using PM. Ideally, I'd like to get 1 pen for the two so that I may consolidate. :)

That's a real bummer...You would have been soooo close to your goal, Jon :(

Best of luck finding another good trade!

I'm still searching for takers on the modern Conklin Nozak and the Edison Beaumont. I had a couple people kindly PM me, but either I didn't have what they were looking for, or vice versa. So, if you think you may want to trade... PM me :)

I thought I knew all the Edison pens Brian has produced, but I've never heard of the Edison Beaumont. Or is this a pen NOT from the Edison Pen Co.?

Phone calls last just minutes, emails get deleted, but letters live forever.

Yep, a long time ago, when I was Pencraft, I had a pen called the Beaumont.

I have tentative plans to do a re-issue version of this, and use the name again.

UPDATE: I've had a few offers for trades. But nothing that really floats my boat. I'd really like to see this project move forward and I don't want it to die. So, would anyone else like to PM me with offers? All offers are considered. This round my goal is to consolidate the two pens that I have into 1 pen.

So, I'd like to trade the modern Conklin Nozac with Cursive Italic Nib and the Edison Beaumont with Broad nib for 1 pen if possible. PM me if interested. Thanks guys :)

I'm starting to wonder if by discussing the M1000 above, that many of my followers thought that I had crossed the finish line and stopped following. But, as I've said, the deal fell through and I am still trying to reach my goal :)

You may have better responses if you separate out the two pens. Perhaps, trade the Edison for one pen. A lot of people in these forums want to try or like Edison pens.

Part of the problem may be that most people do not want to swap for both pens.

This is just a couple of ideas for you. I am sure with a little patience that you will achieve your goal.
