Help! Waterman Phileas Spares...

AARRGGHHHHH!

I have just discovered that one of my beloved Waterman Phileas fountain pens is missing the black, screw-on end cap. It seems to be lost. Does anyone know of anywhere I can pick up a replacement? I'd prefer not to have to buy another new pen, though I'd buy a used broken one for spares....

Apparently, from replies to previous posts on the Phileas, Waterman do not keep spare parts. This said I notice recently TPSFF (Lewertowski) has been selling Phileas nib sections and complete pens on ebuygum. Now they must have come from somewhere. It might pay to send him a PM on this matter.

Otherwise it's the latter I am affraid. Without promoting him, TPSFF prices look exceedingly good.

Ah! I did see someone selling nib sections on there, I didn't think to email them. They might have a source....

Thanks, I'll give that a go.

This spare alone is not available, Waterman has only the full body, it will be more expensive than a complete pen, J.M.L.

What I find very strange is that you have the full boxed pen for sale at £27.50 delivered yet buyers are still paying over £40 for second hand ones :headsmack: It's a funny ol' world.

Ah, thanks (and thanks for your message on eBay too). Looks like I'll have to think of something else...

I imagine a lot of folks have heard it is a discontinued model ,and therefore assume it must be worth what it sells for on eBay. It's amazing how many people bid things up to silly level on the bay and don't even think to check elsewhere in the bay itself for average pricing....

One solution to having lost the end piece, yet not wanting to purchase a whole new pen would be to buy a Waterman Kultur, or even one of the Waterman Harley Davidson pens that are based on the Kultur (not the Horizon or Combustion, but the "flag", "racing" or "flame"---all on ebay) and then use your Phileas nib in the Kultur model.  At least you'd have your nib.  The Kulture does not have the end piece, as far as I know.  The Kulture models, however, are much lighter in weight (no brass sleeve in the barrel).  Just a thought.
