I, too, love looking at old handwriting, particularly the early half of the 20th century (1910-1950's). Mostly, Palmer's style! I was raised during the 50's, and remember so many people using fountain pens, and with such a beautiful roundhand... My parents and teachers were some of them. I try to copy their styles, as I remember them.

BTW: the links you mention are superb.

Thanks!

Thank you for the great links.

I like to look at old handwriting in old books that I pick up at yard sales or flea markets. I love collecting old books and I'm especially thrilled when it has the owners name in the front cover or other interesting tidbits written in the book.

I also love finding old spellers, and have one that has several old spelling tests of the owner of the book stuck in the pages. That was a bonus!

Thanks for those links, Moondrop. Seeing Mark Twain's handwriting in 1890 makes me feel ever so much better about my own. I can toootally write like he was writing. Well. Pretty much. With a dip pen.

Good stuff.
