Sam, your ink analyses are awesome. Do you ever write with them in a pen? (Jus' kiddn')

+1, Monte Blanc, Lamy or Diamine Registrar's

Here are a few inks in response to requests. No particles were visible in any of them, but they do make for nice abstract art.

R&K Salix (I'm pretty sure this one is iron gall. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong):

After all my play with Dragon's Napalm yesterday, I looked like I'd gone wild with a mercurochrome bottle.

IF someone has it, Polar Browns and #41, the old and new formulas. Whenever I have it run on some tissue paper, it always splits into orange and brown...

BSIAR and legal lapis are interesting, wonder if any of my past highschool teachers would be interested in that to show off brownian motion...

I would also be interested in seeing those inks that split colours. Another one that does that is Waterman Havane, which splits into its component red and green at the slightest opportunity.

it was pretty cool. i looked at noodlers kiowa pecan which i extracted from a converter. i was surprised at all of the blue particles in the ink, i previously had midnight blues in the converter, and i must not have cleaned it fully? either way, just thought id share my findings... i thought it was neat.

the molecules were moving semi rapidly, there seemed to be different "stations" where there were more clumps of the molecules together.

Awesome thread. Thanks to everyone who's posted; I don't have a lot to contribute, but have enjoyed looking very much.

I did some more videos & shots. I'll do the shots after dinner, but here are the videos which are pretty interesting. These are 30-60 sec clips. I think the slides were 400x except the filter paper ones were only 40x

Parker Penman Sapphire

J. Herbin Encre Authentique (with wood tannin) aka "Lawyer's Ink"

Noodler's Black Swan on Filter Paper

Sailor's Red Brown on Filter Paper

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.

Great thread - would be interested to see if anyone can spot the 'gold' in Haematite 1670!

I would love to see custom mixes, like what happens if you mix Noodler's highlighter inks with other colors to make custom green highlighter ink, custom mixes like Binder Burgandy or Blurple, and inks that you are not supposed to mix together.... :headsmack:
