The Most Elegant You Ever Saw..

Purest line : Waterman Edson (with the blue colour, but that's me). Uncapped, I think no pen beats that.

Pure line : Nakaya cigar.

Discrete luxury : Parker Duofold Centenial / Waterman Man 100 / Montblanc 149 / Pelikan Toledo M900

I absolutely agree with mirosc, shl and ArchiMark.

Here's mine, a real beauty (just flew to Hamburg to visit him 3 days ago):

Congratulations on your pen. I envy you for owning one!

That's a real beauty, without all that unnecessary bling, stones, metal ornaments or whatever else.

I like your taste!

Greetings,

Michael

Totally agree, except that I prefer a m1000 over a m900

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

There are so many nice pens shown in this forum.

The most recent one I saw was this brown tortoise celluloid Edison custom #76 that I saw in this thread. Looks very elegant to me!

I also like this Edison Urushi pen a lot.

The 75th Anniversary MB 149. The rose gold trim and mother of pearl star have an understated elegance to them that is very appealing to me. It's a pen that would look as beautiful today as it will in 100 more years because nothing is ostentatious about it. That's what I consider elegance.

I agree with you, but was more talking about style than about writing ability. It's the main reason why I have a M1000. Well I've ordered a Pelikan Concerto lately, I hope I won't regret the nib-gap, and that the B nib will compensate the stiffness of those nibs.

I don't know how some of these pens are considered elegant. They are certainly very fine indeed, but elegance suggests understatement and beauty rather than excessive adornment with ostentatious detail. I would call the Pilot Myu series pens some of the most elegant I have ever seen.

My muse has been the MB F Scott Fitzgerald... For me, it's understated and a harmonious blend of metals and textures without being obnoxious. It's on the perennial grail list for me.

Another vote for the Mont Blanc Greta Garbo. It was also the pen that sucked me into this vortex of fountain pen addiction in the first place!

The search for the perfect blue ink is a delicious and endless quest...

In my opinion and as alone in that as I may be ... an elegant pen makes a statement of the holder's confidence and makes a subtle statement of unmistakable class. No need for flash and noise. For me, that pen is the Sheaffer Valor.

Hear, hear!

+1 to that.

I only have two pens - an Aurora Optima and others.
