I've not tried many, but I like Diamine's Saddle Brown a lot - from what I've seen of the Waterman Havana Brown, that looks nice too.

Levenger's Cocoa is nice as well. One of my favorite browns and comes in a very nice bottle.

I have using four browns lately, even thought I am not a Brown ink recently, all of them nice but different:

Waterman Havana Brown and Sheaffer Brown are close to Sepia.

Private Reserve Chocolate is Brown.

Caran d' Ache Grand Canyon is very, very dark brown.

My favourite brown is Diamine Chocolate Brown. A great ink that I can highly recommend.

+1 Diamine Chocolate Brown is very good. But at the moment Herbin Cacao du Bresil is my favourite brown, still darker and more grey than Diamine Chocolate.

Waterman Havanna is another good brown, I darkened mine with Waterman Black.

My favourite is Rohrer & Klinger Sepia. Very well behaving. No red/orange hues, no green hues. Just brown with a hint of grey.

And +1 for Diamine Chocolate Brown.

I like browns as well. Depending on my mood I like Waterman Havana Brown, Pelikan Brilliant Brown or Montblanc Toffee Brown. Of the three I think the MB is the most satisfying every time I use it. All three produce shading but I like PBB's shading characteristics the best.

I'm also a fan of Waterman Havana and Montblanc Toffee Brown.

+1 for these (so, should that be +2 then?)

Pelikan brilliant brown is very middle of the pack, a nice benchmark

The voice of this guitar of mine, at the awakening of the morning, wants to sing its joy;

I sing to your volcanoes, to your meadows and flowers, that are like mementos of the greatest of my loves;

If I am to die away from you, may they say I am sleeping, and bring me back home.

I like brown ink. The one I keep coming back to is Pelikan Brilliant Brown. It works well in all my pens and I like how it looks when it dries.
