Slim Fountain Pens

I don't think people really appreciate how slim the Sailor Chalana is...

Here's a good review. It is so slim that it comes with a unique converter and only uses carts that are specific to the pen.

Montblanc Mozart. Best small pen on the market. You can screw on the cap to post it, which makes it about 5" long. The cap screws on when capped, you can carry 2 cartridges with it. And if you want a super ornate nib, get a 75 year anniversary edition...one the best nibs I have ever seen.

I inked up my Cross Townsend this week and was surprised at how slim it is...almost too slim. I've grown used to my larger Auroras and Montegrappas. I have decided to carry the Cross as my dedicated purse pen for a while, letting the Lamy Studio rest a bit. I think Sheaffer and Waterman also have some models that are on the less-expensive and less-ostentatious side, should you prefer something low-key.

If you like really slim writers:

1. Hands down the Aurora Hastil, elegant and a really good writer with a 14k nib

2. Lamy CP1 (I like my CP1 pt with the platinum finish), I like the look and it, too is a wonderful writer with a steel nib or a 14k nib (CP1 pt only)

Bye

slimmest f/p around is tombow Zoom. Quite presentable and easy to write with, around 100 bux+ if you look hard. Some outfits chargwe double + triple. Mostly UK dealers carry. Not that commonnly found stateside. Nicely finished in carbon fibre

# Who said, upper class writing instruments must be of heavy weight?

After ZOOM 707 - the world´s probably thinnest writing instrument – Tombow presents now the probably lightest design-oriented writing instruments: ZOOM 101 Carbon Collection. Fountain Pen, Rollerball and Ballpoint Pen are light as a feather: 14.5 grams – including its refill! The secret behind: The body consists of 100% Carbon and the silver-coloured parts are made of Duralumin, an extremely light and durable Aluminium

Aurora Hastil, is fairly skinny burt not nearly like the Zoom

Hello, I'm on the hunt for a high quality, slim fountain pen.

Main reason is that I'd like somethings thats easy to transport and doesn't look ridiculous whipping out of my pocket at the airport or restaurant. I am thinking of something clean and elegant like the Starwalker, but preferably with a more ornate nib.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

How about one of these slim Pelikans? they fit nicely into the pen loop of my A5 Filofax.

Left to right: steel Mont Blanc slimline, black Mont Blanc slimline, Aurora Hastil, Cross Century 2, Esterbrook SJ.

The steel slimline and the Hastil I bought within the last year for about $100 each, by being patient.

Waterman Harmonie is pretty slim, and comes in a number of finishes. I've got a couple, but too slim to be comfortable writng for a while in 'Cat's delicate paws.
