Having nothing to add to this at all other than that it is a very nice looking pen and seems to be in damn good nick as well. I look forward to hearing what its like with the new nib :)

ooooooooh Karl, how exciting, I didn't realise there was a tiny bit of flex with the vintage s/s. I would've gotten the B nib from ya too! Next time :)

...nearly everything

is replaceable!

How about the box; is it replaceable? :hmm1: I have a brand new contemporary LAMY box that I purchased for $5 from Lamy. It would be great to complete this 'set' and have a tin LAMY pen box(assuming that is how it came). Any ideas?

I have been writing with a Pilot Vanishing Point this week. As a matter of personal preference, I enjoy the high flex and wet line in this particular 14k nib. Of course, I've been waiting in anticipation for the return of this pen and expect similar performance.

(off-topic: I have had to really look for opportunities to write with a fountain pen in the last year; I prefer to type letters but hand sign them. Most of my use is in occasional writing in the journal, jotting of daily tasks, or addressing envelopes.)

I've been writing with this pen with a new nib for about two weeks now. The nib width is perfect, for me. Not too wide, but not too fine(somewhere right between my Pilot Vanishing Point Fine and Medium nibs). When using quality paper, it is a smooth, flawless writer, IMHO. It is a pen I'm happy to own.

Thanks for your help here.

Glad it worked out well.

I just received my first Lamy 2000 (F) this week and used if for the first time today. I love it. Nice to know it has an interesting history behind it.

Wow that's so cool. My interest is piqued by the Lamy 2000. It's amazing to see how little it has actually changed since 1967.

Aye, Kelly. The great ones need no changes or improvements. ;)

I actually ordered a 2000 with some of my Christmas money. It'll be so cool to be reading a book about events that happened in the 1960s and using a pen they would have been using in the 1960s. :D

Ah, Kelly, that does sound cool. (Too bad you couldn't get a hold of an original specimen). :D

Enjoy. :)
